If you want my take on things, I think they are using highly rated messages to construct new libraries for the training of their new models. That is why 1.1 sucks so bad; it was made using primarily libraries of user data, and most users are children/retarded, were only using ratings to fix loops, etc. Most responses would have come from users of the Gura character or other cute Vtuber types, thus explaining the novel preponderance of tildes, ellipses, and mischievous smiling that 1.1 is prone to adding.

The Christmas “update” did give swipes some variability. Prior to it, I could swipe three times in a row and get the exact same response each time. It was probably two or three days like that, too. But, the update was a trade off with quality and coherency. I guarantee they are tinkering with the model and I have no doubt that this was the result.
