The general rule of thumb is Twitch if your content is primarily based on livestreaming and YouTube if your content is primarily pre-recorded and edited.

>Do you think there's an audience for X, Y, Z content?
First, ask yourself if you would watch a streamer of your skill and experience. Second, do a check on social media and look to see if other streamers are already creating similar content. Don't limit yourself to vtubers, include traditional real life streamers to scope out a potential audience.

Trust me when I say that even if you had an amazing voice (you described an amazing and unique voice as far as I can tell) you would find some other justifiable reason to dislike it. If you had a perfect voice you would also still dislike it anyway but just without any particular reason.

I have a voice that people always compliment, and sometimes sharing recording with people I don’t know, met with total disbelief it was actually me. For me anytime I speak, it’s more often than not that I get compliments. It’s probably more often than that because usually it’s multiple people when I do speak up. People can say my voice is deep, smooth, and that they want me to be their father figure or fuck them (guys and girls) but I absolutely still hate my own voice though. Nothing gives me listeners fatigue more than my own voice.

Please don’t overthink this and beat yourself up. Feel free to share. Or don’t.

I guess? My female friends IRL don't have high pitched voices either, but mine is still very deep compared to them. It's made me feel self conscious about it for a while.

Are there any chuubas with religious objects on their logo? This might sound reaching as fuck but what's the impact if I have a huge ass cross or other religious objects taking center stage in logo with my name on it? Said logo would be attached on the back of my jacket with some chuuni phrases.

Yeah, this sounds fine. A little crispy since you mentioned it, and there are things I won't be able to tell without hearing it louder, but it's fine. Also, setting aside the fact that >95% of people hate hearing their voices played back, a lot of professional vocalists/performers have talked about using a major complex they had about their voice as motivation. Since we're on a weeb board, Kaji Yuuki is one example of this. Motivation can be hard to come by, so strange as it might sound, you could leverage your situation into an advantage if you start trying to train your voice.

That's the million dollar question, friend. For a YT stream, I tend to pay less attention to titles and thumbnails, but I'm already deep in the chuuba hole so maybe I'm not the type of person to target toward. If starting from zero, it might yield a better return to post shorts that are highlights of the stream, like Twitch clips but higher effort. For tags, I see a lot of people putting #VTuber and a fan name hashtag up by the title, which seems good. Metadata tags probably won't make a big difference unless you're covering something that's easy to misspell or shares a name with something else.

Dragon circling a cross definitely does sound chuuni to me. Probably better to go with something more obscure like a Faravahar, though, considering. Either way, be prepared to consistently answer questions about what it means and why it's there. Make a reason up if you have to. As long as you're not lying about your affiliation or actively trying to alienate a religious group, that level of symbolism shouldn't be a huge problem in the grand scheme of things.

hello friends... I would like to become a YouTuber, here are my qualms:

Historically, I have practiced very poor OpSec D: My privacy and security practices online were not safe at all, for many years... Discord is my main issue, as on my old account I've shared probably about a hundred pages of personal information, identifying information, embarrassing or offensive opinions, etc... Mostly only between friends in private group chats, but some of my stuff including my face has been shown in public discord servers ;-; I used the same alias and username on all my accounts, which makes that Discord easily identifiable as mine. So my entire online persona is basically contaminated! Which is a shame, I grew to really like my name, my character I designed to represent me, everything... I had basically found a niche that would be my vtuber persona, but it is unusable due to the alias and character's high probability of compromising me lol >_> I have only shown the character design a few times when I was advertising commissions, but I assume even a little bit is enough to have to scrap it all. I really want to use my old character design, but it's too dangerous right? It sucks, as I have no clue how to go about crafting a whole new identity! help pls? ;-; Any tips on how to securely destroy any connections to my old identity that weren't mentioned in the OpSec guide, so I know how to go forward making a new persona safely? for the exact reason you say, I won't name myself, but I can at least share that I've made really good headway in the whole exxperience. I streamed for a while as a PNG going all the way; making a schedule and sticking to it, voice reps while communiting to work and working on covers, clipping / subbing highlights, working on prerecorded content, even grinding up other languages as a source of potential interest. It was great, and though I had a max of maybe 3 viewers, 2 if you subtract someone advertising in my chat, I knew I wanted to keep going, so upgrade I did. I've now considerably beefed my setup overall; I have better internet, a real XLR mic, I've gotten better at FPS games (enough to enjoy them sincerely), made my own (3D) model, built a high-spec desktop to max settings and am reusing my gaming laptop to host the stream and doing handle tracking without dingling my resource overheads. Apologies for the sudden blog, I just thought someone might like to see some positivity. I'm usually lurking though.

Hey anon, I've been there too. For a long long time while working and saving for PC parts, trying to navigate how I'd make the transition from PNG to model, and especially when I decided on going the self-made Vroid route, I was mortified at the prospect of all the work I was putting in coming to nothing. I generally overthink a little bit already, but with the scale and commitment to something like this, especially when success is anything but guaranteed, it's so easy to end up in that kind of rut. I really think that learning to enjoy it for the sake of doing it should get more attention among indies in general.
As for actual advice I can offer to help you, when the satisfaction of making quality content doesn't cut it, always keep in mind that any skills you cultivate here can be applied to other areas of life, and not with much difficulty either; voice reps can make you sound more confident (and can make you more confident); being able to talk to yourself makes talking to others way easier since you only have to think half of the time now isntead of all the time; any drawing reps or language reps applicable to so many things it's hard to count; actual technical experience with the more specs-oriented side of streaming is real knowledge, and moderating / running / entertaining a stream is a juggling act that makes you one hell of a multitasker; even editing, that's a real (and employable) computer skill.
Besides, at the end of it all, even if it doens't work out, you tried! You committed to it and put real effort in, and that alone is worth something, yeah? Many, many people want to do things or say they will, but one thing that every indie has in common (and (you) too), is that they're doing it. Even posting here shows that you're trying. One of the most tangible skills I have gained from streaming and vtubing is becoming able to read out loud really well. When I started I would read in a halting and sometimes stuttering way, kind of stumbling over my words. But now I can really read really smoothly and in a natural way, while also doing different voices and putting in a lot of natural emotion on the fly that imo comes out pretty well. A while ago I was reading a book to my little nephew and used all of this and he just thought it was the coolest thing ever. At the very least this really makes me happy
