When do you think the Vtuber economy will collapse?

>> No.40855480

It already did a while ago.

It is in progress.

Probably ovwr the next year. As holoen continues to founder it will stop existing as an entry point for new vtuber fans. Existing vtubers will just end up endlessly cannibalizing eachothers viewers

I hate this faggot talking point about muh "market saturation" (implying these niggers ever took a marketing or microeconomics class). As soon as Nijisanji EN released a 2nd gen "experts" were already screaming at the top of their lungs that the market would be saturated, they've been screaming for two years now yet seemingly no such saturation ever occurred despite the countless Niji gens, dead and alive small companies and hundreds of indies.
And the reason is quite simple: The vtuber market is still expanding, as anime gets more and more popular in the west so will there be more vtuber viewers, people don't have to just watch one vtuber either so people will watch and subscribe to multiple vtubers over time and customer loyalty is a thing which ensures near perpetuity of income. All these company will keep existing, they will keep growing until they don't (like how IRL idols died slowly over 10 years) and they'll still have a core audience that will never stop watching them.
To really kick this in for the retards, do you think that the streamer economy will collapse? Are people just going to stop watching streamers? A vtuber is just a streamer with an anime avatar.

In most fields artists hire their managers and can fire them if they don't run day to day tasks aka manage the talents.
I wonder if it's just a Japan thing or is this solely Vtubing manager behavior? The manager should be like how Batman has Alfred (his butler).

What >>40855556 and >>40855480 said. Fags who have their heads permanently in the sand watching mainstream will never notice or flat out deny it like >>40856498, but the thing is expansion doesn't always mean success. Within a year or two following 2020, we experienced an entire production curve, from the exponential growth to plateau after the initial expansion into the west via ENVtubing. While there may be an established core audience both here and overseas, you can guarantee this has become normalfag activity in weeabo society and has lost its niche. We'll rarely ever make headlines across the board again like we did in 2020.
That doesn't even scratch the surface in discussing the desolate state of indie vTubers and steaming culture overall. Imagine all of those newfag lost souls losing any chance at getting an audience once the world put itself back together and ended quarantine. No more bored zoomers to click around twitch and give them followers and money while they make rocket science out of deciphering the algorithm. TLDR, Saturated to hell whether you know it or not

If you're independent that's easier to do. Talent agencies are the model here and universally the talent doesn't have a lot of power over management unless they're superstars.

>As soon as Nijisanji EN released a 2nd gen "experts" were already screaming at the top of their lungs that the market would be saturated
Because it showed how often debuts would occur. They were right. 90% of fans of female nijis will their top three in the first three waves (Lazulight, Obsydia, Ethyria). A good 85% will have their oshi be from Lazusydia
>The vtuber market is still expanding
False
>people don't have to just watch one vtuber either
People only have so much time in a day, and only so much time they can devote to watching vtubers. Furthermore, oshi's as a cultural concept insist upon being faithful to your chosen. You can watch others, but aside from yabs and reclines, people don't want to switch
>Are people just going to stop watching streamers?
Yeah nigger. It's low quality content, only notable for its consistently long watchtime. I just watched a stream today, but for the last two-three months I haven't watched a sningle stream, because the latest anime season has been that good.

Hmm. I keep applying to Cover. I wonder if that contract lets you hire an independent manager so they can manage the managers for me or if that'll be seen as a big faux pas.
Assuming the contract lets you, of course. Time is always a problem I swear.

Twitch and watching streams are for old people (millennials). TikTok is the most popular app in the world right now and is only getting more popular. Expect TikTok vtubers in the future who don't stream but post short content clips.

>> No.40859569

>>40859062
>TikTok
Between that app and the already droning mainstream platforms, content creating got skewed hard. Feels ethereal remembering the times where vTubers would still produce full videos from scratch instead of the more impromptu lines of making sub-60 second shorts or just streaming for hours. Explains why the brains of children beyond zoomers are turning to mush

>it's only not saturated when thousands of newfags flood the shit out of the island mogolian culture board because of clipping
No my cute little retard, vtubers becoming normalfag is still far off, anime itself has only gotten normalfag barely recently because of streaming services (which aren't dying just because people don't live rent due in their homes 24/7). Not only are there huge markets that have not efficiently been tapped into like Europe and South America but every other thing that would give vtubers more viewers has been happening. According to you there's simply 0 growth post COVID yet that's not at all what has happened, it's almost like people just kept watching streamers in their free time, huh, weird, imagine sticking to hobbies you like...
>>40858917
Your concept of "oshi" is wrong, what you wrote only applies to GFE shit, at best, which isn't a thing in Nijisanji and plenty of Hololive fans watch multiple girls within Hololive despite having a favorite. Oshi doesn't express exclusivity, it quite literally just means someone you're especially cheering for (to succeed); do no conflate idol culture with gachikoi.

You can argue that we're past the adoption curve and have plateau'd and that's fine, but that doesn't mean that they can't just come up with new shit to prolong the lifecyle of anime girl avatars (like every other phone launch, that's essentially what they're doing when they launch a new gen) or milk it successfully for another decade (idols took a decade to die and there's still nonetheless a few, ironically they're going into vtubing or podcasts). A few million people watching vtubers is nothing, there's plenty of potential to grow still especially since we're nowhere near Japan levels despite EN companies having global reach. As for indies or small corpos they have to win their costumers just like Nijisanji EN had to, it's no one's fault if they fail or succeed and plenty have succeeded and will keep succeeding (even if they later go corpo).

NTA but his definition of oshi was the definition for decades, people only started using your version when AKB48 debuted a subgroup and it was a literal shill move to try and get people to watch both groups

>GFE shit, at best, which isn't a thing in Nijisanji
Tell that to Vox and Millie
>Oshi doesn't express exclusivity, it quite literally just means someone you're especially cheering for (to succeed)
It's well-known that one is only allowed to have one oshi and multiple oshis are looked down upon, similar to having multiple waifus. I don't know how the idol industry does it, but that's the way it is here, for better or worse.
>that doesn't mean that they can't just come up with new shit to prolong the lifecyle of anime girl avatars
True. I've been saying for a while that Niji and Holo are dead in the water when it comes to innovation and genuine investment in their talents. There's zero reason that NijiEN and HoloEN shouldn't be as 3D as Filian
>we're nowhere near Japan levels despite EN companies having global reach
True, but there is hard limit between vtubing and anime, due to the culture of vtubing. Though I suppose that's what you're saying, that vtubing has plenty of room to grow if they outgrow their idol roots
>As for indies or small corpos they have to win their costumers just like Nijisanji EN had to
I expect to see further indie growth what with HoloEN's male issue and NijiENs acceleration of middling talents. Already Pippa is at 1k, mogging some NijiENs. IdolCorp's EN debut was bugger than expected, and they got some talent in there to be sure. You got the retro spider and Miori making regular appearances on the catalog. And though Prism is largely forgotten, the talents are still pretty good at what they do, and might float on to other corps when the next big corp comes to fruition
