Saw another lora training guide posted last thread (or was it the one before?) and checked it out to see what's different from the previous guide - https://rentry.org/59xed3

I used a leftover Kanata dataset I had from an old embed I tried to make that didn't really work out and the general idea is fine but it's very attached to the idea of giving her a specific pose in basically all prompts I try. Weird since usually when something is too strong it's the outfit, never seen this sort of problem before.

It's a bit hard to believe but picrel is actually a different seed for every single image and the prompt is just masterpiece, best quality, 1girl, *, standing, cowboy shot

Clearly my dataset/tags aren't good, which I knew already. And the guide emphasizes very strongly the importance of good tagging. So, if whoever wrote it is reading this, I recommend when you get around to uploading a lora made with the guide as a sample that you also upload the dataset + tags too so people who are dumb (like me) can learn how to tag things properly

also as a side note, the guide says to not use the same venv as the webui does, but I ignored this step and everything still seems to run fine. Do at your own risk, though

Since /sdg/ is useless, I'll try asking you guys. When you're training embeds, what's the difference between once, deterministic, and random?
Also, how long should you train an embed? A certain number of steps or epochs? Aiming for a certain amount of loss?
After the Asanagi and Henreader embeddings, I thought I'd try Araizumi Rui (pic related), and it's showing great results after only a few thousand steps, whereas I arbitrarily trained the other two to 50k. Is it worth continuing, or do I call it good enough once I'm happy with the results?

And training steps depends on your training speed. Going up to as high as 50k seems way too much. The most I've seen people do are around 25k, but even then I only do 10k at most unless the embedding is severely underbaked.

No idea about your first question but I feel like over 10k is rarely ever necessary
You might want to look at LoRAs over embeds, they're similar to hypernetworks but they take like 30 minutes to train, often with better results
/hdg/ has been having a field day with them for a bit now, they can't go a thread without a dozen or two new LoRAs being dropped

I did, but I chose embeds for a few reasons: they're easier to use and much smaller in size, while still being fast and easy to train if you don't go overboard and train for a million steps like I did. People are only going nuts over LoRA because it's a shiny, new toy.

I just tested with pruning tags inherent to the character and it seems a lot more consistent, not overbaked, running at 0.85-1 LORA weight - I scraped the tags using Grabber and removed tags inherent to the character. 1girl generates the character but anything more and it starts changing character details, so it still works by calling tags related to that character

hll2 is significantly more well equipped to make Nijis with than hll1. Even just their name and a description based off vague memory with no reference nailed the characters first try which is great. However, hll2 also just kinda sucks. Body proportions are all weird, hands are somehow even worse than usual, it's just not good. And based on posts I've read and our own recipe rentry, nobody even uses hll2 anyway, not even in mixes. To make matters worse, the prompts for the Niji girls weren't even close to compatible with hll1 on even the popular girls who have a lot of art.
So my real question is, is this even worth it? If I put the time in to update the tag rentry with Niji prompts for hll2, is anybody even going to use them? Because there is really no sense in doing it if it's not useful to anybody besides myself.

This would be a very small list but I could tack on a discount Niji section to the end of the Hololist. If I'm doing it on hll1 though I'm just going to rapid fire through the company, as in "name, nijisanji, eye color, hair color, hair style, vague description of shit in their hair," and if it's not close on the first attempt than I am not going to attempt to DIY.
My hope is that the hll developer himself will show up to tell me not to bother because hll3 will have all the Holos and all the Nijis and be great. But until then I suppose a hll1 confirmed Niji list will be useful to have.

I would say spending time to make a full list for hll2 is not worth it. Just test on most popular nijis.
Regarding hll2, AOM2+hll2 mix is usable for realistic Shions (posted earlier) and niche nsfw, but sucks in general.

Plans for hll3 so far:
Start from scratch again, using nai as a base (again). Resolution 768x or 640x (instead of 512x used last time). More blacklisted/ignored tags for less garbage in dataset.

Vtubers: holo, niji, vshojo, pc only. No random indies (it won't learn some literaly whos with 30 images anyway). Balance image numbers, preferring new images.
NSFW content: similar to whats in hll2, but cleaned up and more balanced. Normal sex positions, tentacles, futa, ryona, bdsm, torture and (some) bestiality should work. 'nsfw' tag added back. Remove potential guro and furry for better anatomy. Not sure about trying to add monstergirls?
Artists and styles: removed. Not needed, loras work well enough for this.
Other: add images focusing on weapons, action scenes(fighting, kickboxing, fencing, dancing..) - may improve those things?
Add high quality cosplayer photos - it may improve anatomy (or make it worse)?

I retrained the previous LoRa using the same dataset but changed some settings.

Training Speed: 5e-5 from 1e-4
Net Dim Size: This has been increased from 128 to 256.
Added text encoder learning rate of 5e-5.
Due to the slower learning rate, I bumped the number of epoch to 12 from 8.
Max bucket resolution changed to 1280 from 960.

Overall it seems to be able to merge itself better into the model rather than maintain the artstyle of the fanart that were used as the dataset?

The preview you see above was generated on AOM2-R34-SF1.1 model with these prompts:
