My rrat is they’re treating the side branches as experimental, in the (probably accurate) assumption that people who watch the side branches don’t care about the main one, and vice versa. But even if it’s relatively minor, Cover still have made moves to force males down everyone’s throats (like the global “no streaming over male debuts” that they forced on JP for some ungodly reason).
The main point of it, assuming they’re not retarded and know most of their audience wont watch males, is to just make their audience, even JP, notice that Stars exists even though most audience members probably appreciated the fact that they didn’t have to think about Stars at all if they didn’t want to.
Either way, even though I don’t actually have a problem at males, this all would leave a bad taste in my mouth anyway, had I not already left. The main problem is the people they have hired to compete. Jp management ae thought we don't know the Englishmarket as well lets hire people they do. They people they think the best way to compete is to emulate the other players in the market that have eaten into the market shae. This means more male collabs(nijien) and twitch style content(vshojo). Its too late to go back to the Jp model. Eventually Holoen will be indistinguishable from other En corpos.
