Thing about JP Stars is that their talents and motives are readily visible. Tempus 1 is actually extremely untalented for an average Cover generation but any criticism of them gets deflected by their fanbase which is inexplicably the most defensive, fragile fanbase since fandead. None of them are very good at singing or bring anything to the table unless you just happen to like their personalities. In reality they're not even putting out real content but they get a lot of leeway from parasocials in denial.

Gen 2 might end up a lot better. There's an ancient content creator, a VA, a singer and an ASMRtist but they're carrying the weight of the first batch until further notice so they're getting treated very harshly.

They started to do group songs after seeing the interest people had for it, but I listened to their last song from Holotempus. Boy, it's not sexy at all.

The lyrics are all over the place and they are really corny. Tell someone to tie their old shoes might sound okay in a pokemon jp opening, but they really ought to work with western music producers.
The comparison to xsoleil is where it shows how lackluster it is. Lolisex song is carbon coby of Kpop style, but it builds a pise tower with sand and a bucket. They only had 2 good singers in the batch, but they managed to give parts to everyone even if the gyaru had a bit more to chew. Variety was on point and they managed to alternate the voices so you don't feel the repetition.
For example, some parts Kotoka sung were sung by both her and Ver in the following part.

In case you aren't baiting: holostarsJP had a fucking awful time when they started. Like, a really awful time. But they kept at it and steadily grew their fanbase, small as they might be in comparison to the girls. They don't fuck with anyone, they mostly keep collabs between themselves or with vtubers from outside the company and they don't actively seek to change anything and just do their own thing. Even some hololive JP fans have no problem with them, because they're just doing things by themselves or with friends they've made along the way.

holostarsEN is composed mostly of guys that are very into the twitch and niji way of doing things, meaning collab spams with anyone they can get their hands on no matter what. And it was obvious that EN management wanted to push the niji angle by allowing them to collab with the girls before they could collab with the JP stars, which was a huge red flag. They've been handed excessive, aggressive promoting, they've been handed the girls and they've been given management as well. They were just given everything. Not even the EN girls had it that easy, and they also couldn't collab with their JP senpais but management made no exceptions for them on collab bans, but they did with starsEN.

They're too manufactured and way, way too forced on everyone. The closest there is to a starsJP in there is Vesper, and maybe one or two of the new guys. The rest don't belong in stars, they were better off in Niji for the type of people they are.
