My rrat: they were planning this since shortly after Council. They were stuck with this because JP corpo slowness and sunk cost, meaning they had no choice. And since they probably planned for EN3 to debut in summer, and since the girls are probably /here/ enough to know what they think, any attempt to rush EN3 would be a sign to the current girls that the corpo is trying to replace them with a new gen of vtubers who aren’t lazy shits.
I don’t know whether debuting two new male gens in a row even though most of their fans only tolerate males at best is a better way to stem the bleeding than to let all of Myth know they’re being replaced and deal with multiple graduations en masse, but neither option sounds great.
I suppose the best move would have been to plan both a StarsEN1 and a HoloEN3 at the same time and leave Tempus to their fate without all this shilling. But that would have cost money and required very long term thinking, which I guess Cover didn’t want to do. And it’s too late now, anyway.
