The general rule of thumb is Twitch if your content is primarily based on livestreaming and YouTube if your content is primarily pre-recorded and edited.

First, ask yourself if you would watch a streamer of your skill and experience. Second, do a check on social media and look to see if other streamers are already creating similar content. Don't limit yourself to vtubers, include traditional real life streamers to scope out a potential audience.

Honestly, the ability to provide funny commentary and reactions to a game/content/conversation and the ability to gush about your favorite media/hobbies/topics are leagues more important than having irl bullshit to talk about. As an artist myself, what I do and what I see other artists do is they just post their art to twitter and then post a "commissions open" tweet when they're avaliable. I don't know anyone who uses fiver or etsy.
And they don't advertise with any sort of tags or anything like #artist4hire they just post their art. If they use any tags it'll be something relevant to the art like #narutoart or whatever

I will say, I've never commissioned a vtuber artist nor do I know any vtuber artists, but I am an artist who does comms and I know other artists who do comms, and they all just post their art on twitter and advertise for comms in twitter, they have never even visited etsy or fiverr

You can find a wide range of artists of all budgets ranging from super cheap to super expensive and all kinds of art styles. You just have to find the artist, see the art they post, and see if they're open for comms.

I don't see any reason why the commissioning structure should be any different for vtuber artists

I've lived through so many fads and communities that have risen and fallen.
So many times I have not been able to fully participate in a community and say "in a few years I will be ready" and by that time the community or fad has faded away into the past.

If it's anything like regular youtubing, then I think the biggest vtubers will become so corporate and fake that it's not even entertaining, but the system will push them to the top and everyone else to the bottom and basically nobody will watch indies because it'll just be a cesspit of verified checkmarks getting preferential treatment from companies and assuming authoritorial roles.
A sort of "step aside kiddos the adults have arrived" vibe where corporations scoff at all these wierdos making their own models and videos and communities even though that's what created and made vtubing so good.

Theoretically it is the right place. But new female chuubas (and males too btw) are few and far between these days, mostly because creeps much like you go around here and scare people away from self posting by saying and doing creepy shit to anybody who tries.

If you really want to find new chuubas go to twitch, search the vtuber tag, and sort from low to high. It will take a lot of work to actually find a non-tranny, non-babi, female that has a mic and who's stream isn't just absolute garbage, but they are out there.

Those are two of the biggest incline pivots. Not knocking you for avoiding them, but if you're willing to steer clear of that, then I'd just say to focus less on growing an audience entirely and think of something that you want to see more of in the vt sphere. If you can create more of that thing, then it could draw in an audience naturally, if slowly, as long as you're consistent. That's my plan, anyway - though to be fair, I'd still do reactions if I was actually passionate about the thing I was watching.

I think I finally cracked the code to entertaining zoomers, so for example zoomers really like Mr Beast, Mr.Beasts videos consist of the scene changing and constant talking about what you're seeing, zoomers also like a streamer named IShowSpeed, who does not shut up during his whole streams

To entertain zoomers you need to talk constantly and quickly, change the subject no more than 20 seconds, even if there is nothing to talk about or you're talking out your ass you need to keep talking. Make sure you have plenty of filler words too like dude and bro because Umm doesn't work anymore.

There's been a big push to promote medical lab sciences as a career field and I lowkey want to be a vtuber to fuck around with their hashtags lmao

How do I make my mic not sound like garbage?
I've tried shure sm7b with cloudlifter, i've tried the scarlet 2i2 and goxlr. I even bought a fucking neumann tlm 103. I've run my mic through adobe audition filters, nvidia broadcast, obs filters. It feel like no matter what I do my mic audio quality is terrible and I don't know what to do to fix it. People in discord calls always complain they cant hear me and my mic sounds grating on stream. pls help.

It could just be me, but I feel getting recognized on youtube is easier than twitch, and if you're stuff is well done and funny enough it should hopefully bring people in. Though if you do more videos than livestreams, even if you have a few thousand subs, you wont get a lot of viewers on a stream I think, but go for it anyway, try and have a balance between the two. Also YT separates livestreams and vids into different columns if you're worried about that.

On males they do appear to be buffs generally. On women they seem to be debuffs. No idea why that is, all I can say is that after watching quite a few debuts of corpo vtubers you see a ton of comments like "bong accent, dropped" when a female first starts talking in a British accent whereas females start horny posting when a male reveals their British accent.

In my experience your accent and voice would appeal quite a bit to the general female audience that watch vtubers. I think your best path to success would be pandering pretty hard to females.

My advice would be to get a nice conventionally attractive model. Look at other popular vtubers, particularly those in Niji, as well as character designs from popular otome games for inspiration.

Secondly, try to tailor your content from the start toward a female audience. Play games popular with females. Think lots of nintendo, cute shit, games with less violence, maybe more story based games. Don't play any autistic hardcore shit, the only females into that are trannies and that is not really an audience that can carry you anywhere.

Males in vtubing have a pretty hard time building up a viewership from nothing in general though so don't expect easy success or anything. But you can probably build up an audience if you are smart about it.
