The reverence given to the prophets in Islam is something distinct from worship which is offered rightly to Allah alone.
Christians do worship Jesus as he is believed by them to be the incarnation of God (specifically the second person of the Trinity, variously called The Son or The Word).
To a Christian Jesus is not just a prophet he is actually fully and totally deity.
In Islam Jesus is only a man, they do hold him to be a sinless man and uniquely perfected among men but not in any way God.

In fact the Christian worship of Jesus is explicitly condemned in Surat Al-Ma'ida

Mohammad likewise condemns belief in the divinity of Christ and the concept of the Trinity in other places and considers it a form of polytheism.
The two religions have very different concepts of who and what God is and being aware of those distinctions is entirely appropriate and the only thing you can do if you want to show respect to both religious systems and take them on their own terms.

My post wasn't about condemning one position or the other but pointing out what the facts on the ground were in regards to how each religion treats the worship of God and how it relates or doesn't relate to the reverence of Jesus.
