Btw, if you read my words closely, you’ll see I didn’t call all chumbuds creeps. Just that there are many creeps among the chumbuds. But that definition is subjective. If I were to guess, most people (including Gura) would say that any chumbud who’s ok is one who can just quietly move on and start watching f someone else if they have a problem with Gura’s behavior. Well, there’s no one who can replace Gura for every single one of her fans. But with that many fans, the only thing all chumbuds have in common is that they like Gura. Anything else you could name, there will be a bunch of exceptions.
That’s why I think there’s no such thing as a Gura killer. There are just a bunch of vtubers who can siphon off a portion of Gura’s fanbase by appealing to that subsection of chumbuds better than Gura herself.
Though, the longer Gura goes without streaming, the easier it’ll be to convince more chumbuds to defect. This is what I think is happening. It’ll probably be a cascade effect. I imagine that unless she permanently breaks this cycle, more and more chumbuds will see their comrades leaving and start to conclude themselves that it’s not worth it.
