I went back to Yugo's lore video, and hearing Ike's voice asking if Yugo's crying, all the pent-up emotions of missing Ike, the sudden and swift end of Yugo's time at NijiEN and the fact that I'm on period is making me close to curling up in a ball and sobbing. I don't even know what to think, I just feel... depressed and hollow.

I was one of the anons concernfagging on main and here. What struck weird to me was how no one brought him up during the bday totsus (3 of them he was close to) nor did Noctyx try at assure people he was ok. I was in a couple of chats, Sonny, Uki, and Fulgur, and there would be an errant comment asking if Yugo was ok. I reasoned that it was offtopic or that they didn't see, but it was just very weird.

I was about to go to sleep before i saw the announcement but ive been wide awake ever since; it's the same kind of numbness as hearing a relative died, almost nauseating. worse since he's just gone. it also really fucking sucks especially after seeing how much he's grown as a streamer these past nine months— from an ESL potential yab machine to an amazing artist and entertainer that helped bridge the gap between EN/JP, and now he won't even be there for the anniversary. i know you can't help emotions but i feel guilty for feeling so selfishly upset/frustrated about sonny's sudden break now... so many things i can't even put into words. my heart goes out to yuguys and the rest of noctyx. godspeed dj, thank you for everything.

I had an extremely rough day even before this announcement, and hearing this, crying my tears.. god I’ll miss him. I didn’t get to watch him as much as I’ve liked because of timezones and overlap but when I did catch him or watch his VODs, he was always so sweet and funny. I always loved his laugh and his wit. His voice and karaokes were some of the best singing I’ve heard live. I’m thankful for the time we had with him and I wish this DJ the best in his future endeavors..

Yugo Asuma was what got me back into watching nijisanji. I stopped for a good while, jumping from indie to indie and turning to other companies and slowly just drifting into not watching anymore vtubers. the first EN gen to contain men caught my attention, but never fully. I liked Vox because of the obvious hot man factor, but that's where it ended. when Noctyx debuted, I loved the designs and held out on listening to the song as a sort of special ritual to confirm whether I care about this group or not. Noctyx really and truly caught my eye, Sonny and Alban both made me consider, but what really tipped me back into it all, was Yugo Asuma, the design, the voice, the antics, I genuinely was captivated by him, by his singing he began to show off, his way of speech as funny ESL, everything about him took me in and kept me going. As he grew as a streamer, I feel as though the audience evolved with him, an audience that loved him despite how much he apologized and made mistakes, we always knew he would do better and get right back on his feet. I always thought that if that one IB stream could be survived, then anything else could, right? It's really unfortunate, and I hope he's fine, I feel so bad for Yugo, he's probably beating himself up because he made people sad, like he always does. I wish him grand endeavors in the future, even if its not vtubing, if he gets back into music, I hope I'll get to hear him sing again.

I didn't care for Yugo at first and was kind of upset that the second EN corpo male wave had a female, but I grew to respect him as a man over time. I remember the first stream of his I fell asleep and woke up to. It was the long ass Getting Over It stream. There were no other boys streaming so I tuned in despite not really caring. It was really sad to see him struggle so much over the retarded meme game but he was trying so hard and was determined to finish it so I stayed. This was back when he screamed a lot over the mildest frustrations he had and it was before his first karaoke. Chat was concernfagging heavy for his voice, understandably so. After seeing chat worry so much Yugo whipped out his acoustic guitar. I woke up to him belting it out to One OK Rock and that was when I decided to put my biases aside. I never got to watch the other streams where he finished GOI, but I sure as hell respected him for finishing the game. Yugo was such an inspiration and I loved how cool he was. He was so talented and I hope he continues to make music and other creative works in the future.
