If you account for the simp factor, IRyS's praise is actually kinda medium and I think that's fine. Her last couple karaokes have been an overall improvement imo. She's the closest to coombait EN has so you have to take everything said about her with a cup of salt.

I think all the hype AZKi gets is justified cause she takes the least risks and no matter where she is put on, she makes sure to get the job done and produce the desired results. While the rest of the girls mentioned in the same category usually improv the shit out of everything, I have barely seen AZKi do something like that cause she is just that good when it comes to the whole idol stuff and fan interaction, she is also almost always the top pick when it comes to the holo girls performing live with other company girls and what not.

These are the girls I think are worth of all the hype they get

Gen0: Sora, AZKi (Would include Suisei but she has very less to offer except for her powerful voice)

Gen1: They all know how to sing and dance so all of them.

Gen2: Aqua, Choco and Subaru

Gamers: Mio and Okayu (Korone for the sovl)

Gen3: Marine and Flare

Gen4: Kanata Watame and Towa

Gen5: Nene and Polka

Gen6: Holosex is dangerously taking over and I think they are all doing very good but we are yet to see them in a live stage so jury is still on hold with that.

ID: Moona is just another Kpop wannabe but credits where it's due, Risu is what Suisei should be and Iofi is just there for the fun of it.

EN: Nobody except IRyS and even IRyS barely qualifies. The only reason IRyS is relevant is cause of the low key slut bait she lays out for her fans.

Girls like Ame and Fauna are the best singers because they're not some tryhards singing gay shit. They sing fun songs that they like whether it sounds good or not. The fun and happiness spreads to you when they do this
When gura and irys sing, they sing a bunch of these songs that require all this range and it's boring and shit, unironically there is no soul

To be fair, I've never really seen anyone talk about Irys in the conversation of "great vtuber singers". She's not even "overrated", just because most people don't seem to care to rate her at all.
Her fans mostly talk about streaming/personality related stuff, just like any other "normal" regular streamer vtuber, like how she's le heckin wholesomerino, cute or (ugh) "innocently yabe" or whatever, which is all fine but doesn't really have much to do with her music or singing ability. And if her music ever comes up, it's mostly just in the context of her fans seething about how "Cover is mismanaging her", yeah as if that's what's holding her back from being recognized as being one of the top vtuber singers, suuure...

but, in defense for IRyS's fans, the whole "cover's mismanaging her" does hold weight to it, the "throat hort" thing, the ESL writing in her songs (which she doesn't have ANY control on), the lack of communication and proper promotion of her music from Cover
at best, she really excels in covers, and her recent orisongs are getting traction
