Yes actually, for conversational talk and hearing what actual people sound like (minus some of them having specific gimmicks like peko's -peko thing etc) it's actually far far better than anime, where people talk in a scripted/stilted way.

>> No.38584587

Yeah, it really has. It's also served as another motivation to actually study the language since I can't rely on fansubs or scanlations with this medium.

>> No.38584666

It's way more useful than watching an anime or drama

>> No.38584716

it helps but you should unironically go to /int/ and use the guides they have. could also talk to other anons there who are also learning

Yes, though mostly because it's given me motivation to actually do my reps, I'm still shit at understanding spoken Japanese but I'm getting better slowly and I can read well enough that I'm playing games and reading manga in Japanese now

>> No.38584814

not dramatically but i have definitely improved on recognizing words being spoken and improved my vocab just a little

>> No.38585983

>>38584402
Yes a lot especially if you watch low-pace zatsudan or JP clips

>> No.38586082

>>38584402
i struggle pronouncing nip words, so hearing a native speaker say them has helped.

Yes, I was around N5 when I started watching at the start of 2020 and now I'm N3-N2

>> No.38591236

>>38584402
In listening yes. Watch subbed clips. Also don't underestimate your capacities, they really aren't that hard to understand if your already N5 or N4

Yep, this abomination made me realize i can now read/speak kanjis and shit. One bad thing though, my jap speak is like those of a seiso girl.

>> No.38592703

yes, but like >>38591626 said if you don't want to sound like a flaming faggot throw watching some guys into the mix

I find that basic gaming streams aren't too difficult now, but zatsudans are basically gibberish to me.
It's a good motivator to keep studying, but I really can't help but feel useless

That's why I watch Yashiro and Joe

I will NEVER do my reps

>> No.38603525

It's just one of the many things I do. Reading is *still* the most effective method to improve. Although anything that gets you to use the language is better than nothing. I have been at post n1 hell for a few years so there isn't really a way to see how much I have improved.
