How do you know they didn't talk it out behind the scenes? Management probably didn't want a streisand effect to happen and chose to ignore it instead of bringing attention to it it and having people connect the dots. Same with Ame acknowledging it on stream, there's nothing to gain from her staying on that topic which would've caused more of her fans to latch onto that name. She did the best course of action which was to switch topics. As for why Gura did it she's autistic as fuck and it probably was a spur of the moment thing. This isn't as big of a mystery as /vt/ thinks.
