The bigger problem was that VTA became the ONLY way to apply to Nijisanji.
After Edengumi, Nijisanji opened VTA and made it so that it was the ONLY way to audition for Nijisanji.
So if you were a prospective 2view, you'd get into VTA, spend god knows how many months there competing with all the other 2views, and if you're lucky you might get a small audience and be invited to debut in Nijisanji.

Remember how Salami was not getting any Niji collabs for a long time? She was the ONLY person since September 2021 who had gotten a direct recruitment. Which Nijisanji had explicitly shut down when they opened VTA.
And there was also the rumor about someone in HoloX choosing a different company and Koyori getting in thanks to that decision.
That shit causes grudges, even if no one would ever act on them, they wouldn't go out of their way to be friendly to you either.

This also means that people who want to get into Nijisanji are growing up alongside people who want nothing to do with Nijisanji, and it's really not a very "unity" oriented setup, especially since they're basically all competing for eyeballs.
