Ame beat it, she made a build with 3 weapons on both hands and like 4 spells. It was kinda her first soulslike game also, so she nerfed herself from the start, but she made a good job. She even killed Malenia

I liked Irys streams. She got into it and did pretty well without abusing summons, and it was her first Souls game too.

I was having a lot of fun with all 3 of the EN playthroughs, its just too bad only ame played to the end
Ina was fun to watch for someone who was actually paying attention to lore and understanding the game as she played
Irys was fun to watch for someone who was surprisingly good, and then as some good fashion souls rp
and of course ameway made the whole playthrough interesting and fun as she kept making new builds

99% of vtubers ruined their playthrough by picking those broken katanas and using broken summons.
Funny enough, all the ones who did that also dropped the game, proving they ruined the gameplay for themselves.

Ina's was great. While I did not particularly care about ER as a streaming game, you could tell she was completely invested in every detail of the game the second the opening cutscenes started rolling. Too bad she is likely never going to finish it.

kiara's looked like it would have been fun and she was rocking the morgenstern for a while.

I actually loved how many of the chuubas i watched had their own weapon choice and style. For example, Irys used double katanas but refused to summon and really went through bosses by learning their patterns, Reine refused to change her armor and weapons because fashion, etc

Noel is my favorite vtuber to watch play souls-likes because of her unga bunga strats. I played Nioh on a M+KB so I never learned the input to activate Living Weapon, I was disappointed when I was halfway through NG++ and I discovered everyone else that played the game just cheesed every boss with LW. Noel though, she was a true samurknight and refused to use on most bosses. My only regret is that she didn't do the DLC because watching her fight Sanada Yukimura would've been a battle for the ages.

Maybe by that point I was so over-leveled, over-geared, over-stated, over-whatever-else from being very thorough with my exploration that I was so bored by everything, so having to actually try to get hits in and survive made it an engaging experience for me.

I get it. Because you probably get to Maliketh after 100 hours. With or without including the massive optional areas like the Haligtree. If you're feeling really accomplished and done by the very end of a regular souls game 80 hours in, fucking 140 whatever is going to feel like the end of a marathon.

There is no way around it, you just have to have more drive to finish than fatigue.

In my experience with souls games every time I complete it, it gets a fraction as long. And this is true of ER too. I was 160, then 80, then 60. Which we can infer that most of the play time is exploration and learning.
What I'm trying to say is don't give up because right now you're hacking a path through the wild. Then when you reach your destination you can look back and admire it, travel and wear it out, go forwards and backwards and own it and make it easy.

I don't blame you for tapping out on elden ring. I only finished it practically out of obligation of never having bailed on a souls game before. Despite being an open world game it really does not want you to explore the world and fill out the map and check all the boxes, cause if you do you really start seeing cracks in the world and game design. After you fight an enemy as a boss, then as a regular mob, then back to a boss again, then back to a regular mob, then back... well you get the point, it becomes pretty tiresome. Are there any instances in other souls games where you fight a mob as a regular enemy type first before fighting it as a boss, instead of the usual reverse? Cause Elden ring does that and it feels really fucking bad.

I finished my first playthrough after 137 hours. I explored every nook of the map, did every single dungeon, fort, cave, and catacomb, beat every single boss, picked up 99% of everything that could be picked up, and did as many NPC quests as possible in a single playthrough. I started a second character and didn't get out of limgrave before I dropped it thinking what was even the point. Which is strange because I've done like 6 runs of dark souls 3 and every time I am just as thorough as my first playthrough yet I never feel as bored and tired as I did in that one run of elden ring.
