I said that based on two things. Might be both. I think the thought process behind the model change was something like "I'm putting so much effort and time into my streams, dance and voice lessons, learning to DJ and rap, and representing the brand, that if I'm still not popular, it's because of the character." He might be right about the design being a debuff, but the thing that turned me away from Aruran outside of collabs in the first place was the way he often talks like as an Holopro member, and feeling like he doesn't take much pride in being part of Holostars
I'm definitely being a schizo, but as long as these two things don't change, I don't think Aruran will ever get the success he wants, because almost no one in Hololive wants someone with this role. It's not rare for Aruran to mention Flare in his streams, but Flare doesn't want to get involved with Holostars. Aki mentioned Roberu in a collab with her, and Flare changed the topic right away. Aruran refusing to get the hint and still trying to be this liaison between Hololive and Holostars is honestly just... sad

Since we're already schizo posting, I'm gonna post my own complaint. Even though Aruran is putting all this effort into external collabs, sometimes I feel like he's not really putting himself out there. Roberu's strategy works because he goes to other people's channels, he even says he can tell from where new viewers are from by the way they address him. Aruran tends to host his collabs on his channel so unless the other person properly promotes it, how would their fans know the collab is even happening? I've seen people in YT comments honestly say that they prefer the site's shitty notifications or community post system over ever using twitter, so they end up missing the live streams and just watch the clips later.
