Different anon here. Long ago I used to wonder why when friend groups dissolve I don't end up in any split group, or why I've never had any internet friend despite having played some MMOs and joined a few forums, discords and the likes. And I've been around here since the early /a/ days yet no sekkrit groups or DMs or internet friends or the more modern private discords either.

But that stopped bothering me long ago, after I became older and wiser, it just became part of my everyday life. Take the hermit/ghost/vagrantpill. Some people are just like that for some inscrutable reason, and nothing the "normal" people, for a lack of a better descriptor, can tell you will change things. This is not a general introvert issue or autism or whatever comes to people's minds usually.

That said, I've had gfs and a few close friends, but it always had to start with me approaching them in 1 to 1 situations. Never ever has any of them approached me first, in fact, for any other situation people like us just instantly vanish from human consciousness, specially in groups or public spaces like social media. We also slowly lose social contacts over time, faster than we can gain them. It's just how it is.

This is why I like anonimity. You can pop in and out of conversations, no strings attached, no expectations, just whatever catches your interest in any given moment. Just flying like a butterfly from here to there.
Abandon your worries, learn to let go, take the journey through impermanence pill, and become your own master. Otherwise you'll just suffer slamming yourself against a brick wall.
I know this will sound terrifying to someone who's still in the frustrated phase, and that not everyone is the same, and this doesn't mean giving up completely on social interactions, just saying that this is also something that happens.
