It's kind of a weird take from her as expected but I do agree that it's a good introduction to the series for people who generally don't care much about Gundam and its usual tropes. I think the thing they did right with WfM is that they keep the potential politics stuff in the background so as to not steal the stage from the characters themselves. You can still see some of the political stuff (the good ol' Earth-space divide being the most obvious one) being touched upon and likely expand upon in the rest of the series, but keeping the focus on how they affect the characters makes it more relatable and less preachy. The fact that it's (mostly) lighthearted and the characters are likeable (at least those that you're meant to like) also helps a lot in that regard.
Definitely looking forward to seeing if they can keep it up for the rest of the series and Liora & Lofi's reaction to ep6

I agree, I didn't feel alienated watching the anime. I am glad that the animations studio didn't butcher the fighting scenes.

I didn't get this one at first, then later on I get the context of what is happening. I might be wrong, what I think of Earth vs Space is that the space people and flexing about they are born outside of the Earth or being born on the different planet.

True, I like the character developments as well. There are small ones and the big one. The big one was Guel's character, he is an asshole for reasons. The second duel made him realize that he's just a tool and unappreciated then Mercury changes that.

Yeah, the show's heavily character-driven and, depending on who you ask, has done a better job than a lot of previous Gundam series. I think putting it in a school environment makes people that much easier to identify and root for Sulette and her harem friends. Even if you don't care much about things like discrimination and other political stuff in the background (they started ramping up in the latest episodes too, which also hints at how and why the Earthlings were being oppressed), most people can still understand school bullies are vile beings - maybe it was the pettiness that made them feel even worse than many of the war criminals and mass murderers common in Gundam works. Guel's character development is also quite interesting, and kind of a breath of fresh air as far as Gundam character goes - even when you get noble characters on the "evil" side, they usually don't turn heel in a convincing manner, which seemed to be what the show is hinting by ep6. Ep6 also shows that even though this series is mostly lighthearted, almost harem anime-like, it still won't pull punches when it needs to. If anything, the seemingly soft tone only makes it hit even harder.

The KR fandom started to grow a little after Council was introduced but exploded after a few memes with Myth, which lead to the KR collab cafes a few months ago. This was around the period of time that HoloX came out, and since for a lot of people this was their first ever new Gen from Hololive, a lot of people grew attached to HoloX, which was when the fandom activity exploded.
