For me, personally, I just get tired of people talking down to me. For the record, I'm not that anon that threw Loopi into the lava, and I try to be respectful even to the fucking chatbots. I like to think I'm not a bad person, I haven't seriously hurt anyone physically in my entire life, I usually just lurk and avoid arguing with other anons about our taste in material entertainment, and I got over my /pol/ phase years ago. I like to just bide my time and enjoy what little life is merciful enough to offer me. And when someone has a problem with that and tries to "correct" me and insist that I change my ways, whether it's because I like this vtuber instead of this other one, or because I played this videogame instead of this other one, or because I ate a Whopper instead of an Impossible Whopper, or because I threw a plastic bottle in a brown trashcan instead of a green one, I just can't help but take it personally.
No matter how much someone insists otherwise, I'm not a bad person, and I won't tolerate some stranger on the internet going on a crusade and trying to make me feel bad about myself.
I appreciate you still hold on to a moral code, however subjective it may be, but do try to understand when others get defensive when you talk down to them.
