Depends on what motives you're talking about.
Turning vtubing into a full time job? You have to be prepared to pander the fuck of whatever draws a bigger audience or the fattest oil barons. You have to literally work your ass off to stay on top of your game and it can be massively draining psychologically and emotionally, just look at HoloEN having as much streams now as the PS3 had games at launch. Right now she's taking classes to go into tech so she clearly has a sensible plan for career change.
Doing vtubing for clout? Orla's not a sociopath, or at least not enough of one.
Wanting to be an entertainer? She enjoys the chats but she's not out to put a performance of comedy/music/art/etc.
Vtubing as a side hobby with no expectations of money? I think she has enough real life friendships that she doesn't need the parasocial friendship of chat to feel fulfilled.

Orla literally said she started streaming as a favor to Urara so Hanabi wouldn't debut alone. However from the moment of debut you could tell that she was very experienced at streaming and managing chat. Also hinted at a history of being in the speedrunning community including at public events. Her health has taken a beating in the last 3 months. Streaming might be getting to be too much effort or time commitment for too little benefit.

you either have to have ulterior motives, or be a fundamentally broken person who uses it for parasocial friendship.
I like Ami and her content a lot, but I sincerely doubt she'd even be streaming if she had IRL friends and was socially well adjusted. Speaking anecdotally I've considering vtubing, knowing I'd be pretty good at it, and I'm a pretty maladjusted person carrying a lot of trauma and dealing with some pretty shitty situations at times, who's only real friend is someone online too far away to visit regularly.
And adding on to that, what >>37137493 brings up is true, and why I ultimately haven't actually started vtubing. I'm an introverted person, and socializing for long stretches of time isn't really my cup of tea, so the only real remaining incentive I'd have is money. Which would be nice, don't get me wrong, but on a personal level I'd rather be focusing on continuing to get myself together, practice my hobbies, and work on my projects, over throwing myself into the meat grinder of streaming.

Compared to doing stuff like practicing my guitar for a few hours, or playing some of my backlog on my own, having to play games for/entertain an audience also feels like it would stunt my development and growth, past a certain point (even if I am barely in my 20s still). Internet communities are full of drama, vitriol, and expectations on you when you're an entertainer. Yes using an avatar mitigates it somewhat, but people still have expectations of you, and there are a laundry list of faux pas that you have to avoid, so you can never truly be genuine like you can one on one with someone.

So I guess realistically, despite only having recently started watching Tsunderia stuff, the impression I get of Orla is that she's currently feeling how I would inevitably do so, if I actually gave vtubing a try, and in turn I think I understand where she's coming from. As much as I like Ami, if you're not a shut-in with a fuckton of issues, even more so than you and I have, there's nothing really keeping you there long term, once it stops being engaging. Not like making something or learning a skill feels, long after the novelty phase wears off, at least, which her transferring to compsci seems to suggest.
