Most of the normies for whom vtubing was just the new popular thing are now moving on or back to their usual entertainment, after they managed to pull down a good amount of EN vtubers and their communities to the level of regular twitch streamers with anime avatars draped over. Who would've guessed that if you take away a lot of what made vtubers appealing and popular in the first place for vague morality reasons and owning the "incels", that they isn't much left that you can't get in a lot of other places. Of course those people stopped caring, because they got what they wanted and it wasn't actually supporting the vtubers or watching the generic content they wanted out of them.

Unfortunately happens with a lot of stuff these days. When the niche thing you enjoy gets popular its good at first, because you get more of it, but once the normies outside notice it's over. They will want to be part of it, won't get it and then want to change it into something they do get, which is usually generic trash.

In the West, the scale is large but unsustainable, and people quickly get bored and leave.
Some people subscribe to channels just for the buzz even though they don't watch, so they stop streaming because it grows regardless of the fun factor.
It's simply lazy to slack off in the same way when there are no lessons or recordings in the real world like JP's.

Vshojo had shit tons of people raiding them for a while until they started to get ahead of them self’s and started to reveal their BFs and berate the fans that didn’t like that they were streaming with their BFs. Fans slowly left but only maybe couple thousand for each (expect Nyanners she lost like 40% of her ccv)

HoloEn introduced Tempus and yet again the fans that didn’t like it got told off by the talents. People started to leave and are still leaving.

I think people are just dropping vTubers altogether. EN vTubers think they can get by on being a sub par entertainer with a cartoon avatar whereas JP understand that kayfabe and parasociality are required unless you have some actual talent or unique skill like actually being good at games.

The ccv to sub ratio in EN is so different from jp. Idk if youtube ccv count is glitches for EN (maybe Americans just use more ads block) or what. In jp, I see 2 views with sub 5k pulling in 100-150 ccv while you don't expect that ccv number for EN indir/small corpo until they hit around 20k subs.
