I don't think that islands next to provinces should count nor big islands. I also believe that given the time period, it is reasonable for islands to "change hands", which is to say that you "owning" the island isn't a guarantee in the future if say, a new thread would like that island. I think that naval nations owning a couple of small islands is not a big deal and that even if the islands are not claimed, you can use them in lore as deserted islands where boats resupply. Ideally, Islands would serve a lore purpose, or help make sense of a nation's naval power, such as Hoshiyomi control an island in the middle of the Kizuna Ocean. While the fear of a "scramble" for islands is reasonable, I think with the idea that the further away it is from your homeland, the less likely you can hold it "forever" can balance this out, as well as limiting islands. This is the stance of /2434/.

I do agree with some caveats.

>1. Proximity to existing threads
If an island exist near an already existing threads, and isnt claimed by those threads, or a new island is added there after the borders are already established, then a naval thread far away from the island can claim it but only if ALL the nearby threads approve.
>2. Too strategic locations
An island that exists and is somehow unclaimed in a very strategic location (say, the middle and mouths of a strait), the island cannot be claimed by a nation that is not nearby. Same would apply to new islands added to the areas, they should primarily be controlled by the threads already there, and not those half a world away.
>3. Outlandish claims
Nations claiming stuff from outlandish locations or too far from their home territories shouldnt be allowed, except if it is made clear that the claim is done for the purposes of lore and wont be permanent.
>4. Land nation fairness
If this is said to only apply to naval nations, then it would incentivize everyone becoming a naval nation, or force those that would have liked not thinking about naval stuff to work with it if they want to have interactions or presence further away. I dont know how this imbalance could be fixed, but if this idea is passed, I would want something to be given to landlocked nations as well.
>5. Limits
there should be a limit to how many islands any rep can claim.
>6. Reasoning
Each claim has to be otherwise well reasoned and justified.

1. and 2. and 3. can have exceptions based on circumstance. Say, if Moriji wants to have a little /infinity/ island next to their home island, then they can give one to them, within reason (i dont think threads should trade or give away massive sections of land).

As for nasfaqg specifically, due to the nature that the nation is set up, we really wouldnt have far away island colonies in the sense of the Serene Republic Proper controlling them. Individual companies or groups of companies operating on islands could work however, but for flavour and lore reasons I would personally prefer nasfaqg working together with and sharing islands with other nations, kind of like how we planned with vrt.
If agreements like what we have with vrt cant be formed however, any nasfaqg islands should be operated not by the Serene Republic itself, but by consortiums or megacorps.

So I suppose unless our rep proper vetoes, I would support with the above caveats included.

Having clear rules could help us avoid a lore scramble for islands, while also ensuring that such claims are done in a fair way. Just because you would have the "right" for an island and you make a claim doesnt mean you get it without decent reasoning. I decided on a few more things which I will add to the paladin thing. They will act independently and answer to nobody. They are their own unit in their own right. The power struggle will not affect them as they have their duties to fulfill and Commodus believes in Risu as well and in fact is purging any risuners who dont. So their goals both align pretty well. The power struggle will be hardly noticeable to them.

As was said before, the last thing for this i would want is to create a situation where naval focused nation have more rights to islands. Even landlocked nation should have a equal chance for one and the main focus should be lore. No nation should be given islands further away simply because "they want to have it" no matter the navy.

On the other hand, no matter how far away the island, if treated with proper care and created lore, no one should fear it being possible to lose the island.

I also think while for some cases it is fine to assume you being able to stop at qn island for resupplying your ship, we should not get over reliant on using nonclaimed islands for story purposes.

I also like using this ink blotch divination technique to communicate. There are some parallels to the actual NLP AIs... I think that's mostly a meme originating from D&D. It's probably meant to represent Brigandine but the original writers didn't know how that worked. As for heat strokes, that's why real life armor has surcoats on them to reduce heat from sunlight, although it's still not very effective in tropical environments, especially if you have to use it for a prolonged period. That's probably the main limitation for armor use in /risu/. Lighter armor doesn't actually help a lot in that regard since the main issue's the lack of ventilation, so you'll probably want to aim for having less armor instead of having them be made of a lighter material. It's also fairly historical since a lot of the time poor people usually don't get to buy and maintain a full set of armor, so their personal protection usually boils down to whatever armor pieces they manage to get their hands on, worn over basically relatively normal clothes.

Now that I think about it, if you managed to stop a catalognaut from killing themselves they could be used as a living power generator. In the same way that schizos can be put into the walls of a fortress to defend from them, a catalognaut can be used as a magic quanta pain engine for anyone that has the proper glyph knowledge to control and restrain their power. A troll capable of making hyper runes could probably capitalize on this in nightmarish ways nanora.

His best bet would be to capture a "pre-discovery" catalognaut, IE a catalognaut that hasn't been picked up by the Goddess Faithful for regulation and training. Otherwise, the catalognauts would be too heavily guarded or have anti-schizo contingencies. If the stars aligned a schizo leader could just find one in a small village, some especially magically attuned teenager. Maybe the scenario here would be that the priestesses and lunaitos found this nascent catalognauts in a village, and they get ambushed by the schizos while escorting them to a more secure location. That would give the schizos the best chance to capture the catalognaut.
