I'm assuming that one of the reasons why they hired Lui and maybe even Botan is their level headed demeanor. Gen 5 could have easily turned into a worse version of Gen 4 post Coco after Aloe graduated but they instead closed ranks are the closest Gen in Hololive bar none.

Audience only gets angry fr if their oshis are slighted. The main reason why stupid shit tends to happen to most agencies is because most of their talents are on the younger side or grew up as chronically online adults. HoloJP tends to hire a mix of well adjusted (relatively speaking) older adults and early 20 year olds so the hags can babysit the younger talents and get them to calm down when shit happens which leads to less chances of someone doing a Rushia. Coco used to do that alot for the other talents (Watame and Aqua). Mio is recognized by most as the mama of the group and was one the main ones who tried to convince Coco to not graduate so I'm assuming she's the one who helps with everyone's mental health. FBK is Sora's Churchill. As someone who has Seniority over the group except for Sora and RBC, she basically sets the culture of the company. It's a pretty ingenious set up if you think about it.

Depends. Do they have an FBK and Sora equivalent? The main thing that most startups and new corpos tend to fail at is their first gen/wave/whatever failing to establish a solid foundation. They always wanna get their own "Gura" or "Myth/Sankisei" equivalent while not realizing that you need to establish a culture first to set up a spring board for future recruits. Tsunderia is probably the best example of a start up that was poised for possible (moderate) success but got screwed over by the fact that their Sora equivalent turned out to be a fucking menhera and they had no FBK to set the tone which just meant that their earlier chuubas had absolutely no loyalty to the company and they left without a second thought once their closest A-chan equivalent (slugma) left. Phase Connect is only going to go as far as Pippa which is not gonna be far since her main attraction is being a /here/ chuuba. VS is going through their own menhera phase right now and none of the their top talents are disciplined (or care enough) to get everyone on the same page because TALENT FREEDOM. If you wanna start up a vtubing company, instead of going for home runs immediately you should instead make sure that you're bases are loaded first.
