male talent doesn't have the same worth or pull in the idolfag market that female talent does
even if it did, the marketing isn't there because all the managers are stuck in the idol way of thinking

By being an entertaining streamer who networks a lot and is lucky enough to grab a large enough audience. Basically like any normal streamer. Having a male avatar is not a buff, but it's not a debuff either. Unlike a female avatar it's just another way to express yourself and you have to work hard find your own success just like if you are a normal streamer.

Being in Nijisanji helps for sure, but even there you need to put in the effort to be popular. It's just that the playing field for males and females is more level there.

There's a good amount of people who won't give VTubers a fair chance just because they're VTubers. Let's face it, VTuber audiences can be pretty obnoxious in the eyes of non-weebs. Most people would much rather watch xQcOW or tyler1 or whoever if they want to be entertained.
For a male streamer to blow up, they would have to be at least 1 of the 3:
1. Have a preexisting audience
A good chunk of the people watching Merry are there probably because of his art. I'm convinced the only reason people watch Takahata101 is because of his voice acting history. Going outside the male territory, Nabi's so popular because she drew Ame and the others.
2. Have a nice voice that makes women cream upon hearing
Corpse Husband and Cryaotic who were both associated with an anime avatar at least at some point are popular with millions of women because of their voices. If it weren't for their voices, neither of them would have an Internet career.
3. Be genuinely entertaining and funny, then get clipped a ton/posted on Twitter or Reddit
If someone is genuinely hilarious and entertaining to a wide audience, then he could be popular. The amount of funny streamers, VTuber or otherwise, are very few and far in between, whether they get noticed or not.
Using a male avatar will cripple you a bit at least at first because anime girls are more iconic than anime boys, although shoujo-style senpai males are becoming a more well-known trope in the west.
Using a female avatar will also give you an advantage with weebs/otaku since more men are invested in idol culture than women.

As the western Fujo/female market is completely dominated by mcyts I can only see one option.
Take one of those creators with the right aptitudes that make girls all of over the the English speaking world super obsessive and turn them into a vtuber thus getting said audiences interested in what other male vtuber's have to offer and getting them the legitimate popularity they deserve.
And I know the perfect pussy drencher for the job well pic related or corpse husband either or would fit the bill really
on a side note getting into mcyts has taught me that a female fanbases are full of shotacons(shounencons?) that don't care about the legality of thirsting after 16 year olds just like I see anons over here thirst after teenage girls, and that there's even a same amount of female viewers obsessed with DILFS as there are males obsessed with MILFS, really made me realize that men and women are shockingly the same in ma y regards

Cater to fujobait while being in Nijisanji. Or be that hamster whatever thing that does mostly mahjong streams. Though, that latter one I suspect is yakuza money laundering since he always privates the streams that gets the money from SC and only keeps the highlight clips of it. Doesn't even use a cutesy voice, just a regular middle age Japanese man voice. It looks fishy unless someone on here knows the appeal of him.
