If you read their overseas manager's vision, they're always positive about the ID market. They will definitely come back someday if Nijisanji hasn't gone bankrupt yet.
The only reason was that they were going IPO. When companies going IPO they hired advisors from global investment boards and banks, and those guys do not care about the company's products, their job is to make the financial reports tidy to maximize the IPO value and they're known to advise to close and merge branches with less than expected profits.
