Honestly, detail is one of those things you have to play by ear. Once you describe something once you don't have to do it again unless it changes.
Like you can devote a paragraph to describing someone's outfit, but so long as they don't change then you don't have to do so again. But if the fic spans multiple days, whether or not you repeat that process is up to you.

On the flip side, you can lean on the reader's innate ability to fill in the gaps. if you're describing someone's house, for example, you don't need to go into great length describing how the living room is laid out or how the rooms connect, since everyone has their own "idea" of what a house layout is supposed to be.
