Hello honk and devchamas, yesterday I got an Idea.

So we got people complain about the Adjustments being
- unpredictable to an extent (do more research)
- at a shitty time for many players (nighttime for Burgers, 6-7am for Yuropoors)
- bogging everyone out of money due to server overload when everyone spam-clicks SELL and doesn't live near the servers

I have a humble Suggestion to make.

Adjustment time stays the same, but instead of instantly going up or down to Value X, you take that Value X and let the Broker buy or sell an amount of shares. Stealthy would be one share, 5-10 shares would be noticable for eagle-eyes who watch the queue. The broker will continue to do that until his target value is reached.

Scenario 1: Stock A is overvalued.
Adjustment hits, some people might know numbers went down. The broker starts selling. Either people go down with the broker or invest heavily or panic sell. Some won't even notice.

Scenario 2: Stock B is undervalued.
People didn't buy in as expected, so the Broker starts buying with his new goal of Value X. People catch on and buy in early to ride the Wave. The last to market will lose some money because at that point the Broker already sells again.

Benefits:
- Server won't shit itself that much at adjustment time anymore
- Reason to check regularily instead of once at 7:05 and 7:15
- Fairer to Burgerbros
- More actual thinking required when investing because the game is more oriented to the middle-to-long term Investments, no more cycle panic and people upgrading their third-world internet for some imaginary oshicoin and Burgerbux.

Chime in with opinions if you want, fellow traders. Just a humble suggestion which came to me on the toilet.

Even though they fixed adjustments already I like the idea of spreading them out over a period of hours instead of all at once and this method is the most logical way of doing that. I just wonder if there's some unforeseen consequences or easy way to game the system if the broker behaves this way. Like it should be public knowledge how much volume the broker owns, I don't think letting users create artificial PnD's by pretending to be the broker around adjustment time would be healthy.

The Broker-Trade should not be visible in the queue to make this work, so it would only be clearly visible if a coin experiences zero trades.

If it is more impactful (2-5 trades/cycle), speeding up the game, it would be easier to ride the waves as one can compare the price of whatever one is watching to queue movement and draw conclusions.

I agree the public should know HOW many trades are happening "off-screen", but they shouldn't know which ones those are is my point. Because you can read it from the data and your research. Or wildly invest in FUD.

My biggest issue with this is I really don't want this game to devolve into spreadsheets and shit. I get the "muh realism" aspect but it's just not as fun for 99% of players when you have to have 3 spreadsheets open keeping track of the broker's invisible bog effect while also keeping track of actual users transactions.

At the end of the day it's just a game so I'd hope the devs put some thought into making it fun and not tedious.

another thing to consider would of course be feasibility.
Nenechi is a good case study, went up from what, $2400 to $5700 or something, let's say $2300 in one go. That would take the new brokerage 230 cycles with the current adjustment of ~$10 dollars per cycle. 230 cycles, or 57,2 hours.
Then again, stuff like Nenechi should be the absolute gigamoon only happening once in a while anyways.

One could make a poll right now checking who wants what, people will vote for what benefits them right now, DEVs implement, people will whine about the new system because others are abusing it already.

Tedious is also a matter of getting used to something and perspective, I had to play the game basically the whole day yesterday because my oshi was mooning for once and I threw off 16 coins, so ~4 hours looking at opportunities every 15 minutes. No problem in home office, others are not that lucky.
And then again, if this is a competition, it SHOULD be tedious so there is value in finding the winner, no?

The decision is not with us to make in any case since whoever pays the server ultimately decides, and updates are in the works anyways at this point, I don't want to come off as needing instant change, this is fun as it is.

Well in that case it should either be impossible to track using 3rd party tools by hiding the queue entirely or make it more transparent by visualizing the broker's movements in your proposed system. At least then you can autism by sitting in the queue and watching the broker's movements and it becomes more about guessing when the broker is gonna peak and other factors like when other players start dumping their coins. It's not like we don't already have graphs, and yet users aren't properly exploiting them because unpredictable stuff still happens like the Youtube API not counting certain streams.

Without changing how much Gura earns, how can you decrease the amount an individual gets from their shares?

Dividends are paid per share from a pool of money
So if the pool of money is X, and more and more people buy in to try and get some of that money
Each person will get less and less, because it's evenly distributed
Hence as everyone latches on to Gura, she will become less and less OP

(I'm not sure this is exactly how it works in NASFAQ, but this is how it works with real shares)

Even the daily adjustments aren't really tying the coin value to the inherent value of their youtube channel just moving them up/down by some arbitrary amount based on their performance that day when compared to the previous day and nothing else.

I feel like there should be some sort of curve to dividends. Dividends should cap at $1k or something and just make every other coin's dividend relative to Gura's or whatever's the highest coin instead of having the entire economy inflated every week.

I could see myself overthrowing yfp, but I'm already pushing the limit of the amount of time I can afford to invest in the game. Next month will probably be 30m max daily of proper attention I can put into the game. So, it's sadly not possible. The real threat is gura memers. Unless there is some theoretical cap on the amount of gains a coin can make, its big arms race on who can gain the most or keep a similar level to the rest. You can try and minmax your gains with things not gura but it's much too time consuming to be worth the effort and you have a good chance of getting burnt like I did this week with noel. Polka is actually pretty high at 2k unless her dividends move upwards. I don't know why she's that high when she should be around 1800-1900 with Lamy, her dividends are only slightly better. Botan's a bit low priced for her dividend but the spread should be something like Lamy 1800, Polka 1900, Nene 2000 and Botan 2300. Gura doesn't break the game in the grand scheme of things but at the same time there is really no reason not to collect more of her over the rest. With the way it works she'll always be consistency be up the top consistency and a single good will propel her upwards enough to make up for the lost weeks you aren't all-in on her. Peko tiers are good but they'll never be the main investment, its more the tier you move into for div day and sell after to do daily trading.
