He probably realized trying to bring in EOPs was a mistake, as he had to deal with them a lot. He didn't stop immediately after he started getting credited for translating official stuff, so I doubt that is the reason at least.
More realistically he realized it wasn't worth the time and effort. Actually good subs are a pain in the arse to do, especially solo. Each of those short clips probably takes an hour or two minimum to cut, translate, typeset, QC, and make a thumbnail for, even with his experience doing fansubs for years as the head of EveTaku. Some time could be cut down if he didn't try to stylize everything to look nice, or let someone else handle it.

I know Boxi does for Roboco. It's not something you see often cause they're the rare few fans that TL'd, got noticed, and got modded within the first year or two, and still have the same oshi.
That kind of thing would not happen anymore even if you put in two or three times the effort they did, since things are a little more locked down.
