That was a wild time because of Salome and Miko just going ballistic. We’ll never really know what effects that had on the scene but I’ll say this, especially as a Chumbud:
Sometimes as a fan it’s good to explore what else is around you, especially when it’s in close proximity to your oshi. NOT is a big example of why many fans really stuck by all these months. When Gura needs time off, those familiar faces would show up and help keep fans happy, and those fans realize how much they like their oshi as well.
I feel like it was the same case with Pekora. Nousagis were just so stuck on blindly following her that they didn’t really see just how fun and exciting Holo as a whole can be. And that you don’t have to JUST sell yourself to one single person’s content. But when your oshi is on, you’re going to support her always. That’s why I feel like Pekora has been as strong as ever and when she’s not around, everyone still gets that boost
