I was aware of vtubers but didn't really watch anything other than some early Kizuna Ai stuff and one or two fucking Nyanners clips I randomly saw on YouTube. Then one day I was on /v/ and saw a random webm of a shark girl and a detective and thought wtf is this. I watched Ai-chan and The Four Heavenly Kings (minus Siro) a fair bit from late 2017 to mid 2018. I stopped to focus on work/college and play games more though, and only saw the occasional thing posted in IRC. That did include Fubuki scatman and Miko nigga. For much of 2020 I was actually fairly against chuubas since I didn't like livestreams much as I had worn myself out on those in 2010-2012. During HoloEN debut, posting ramped up in IRC with a fair few clips posted daily. I think it was around late September/early October that I succumbed and started watching a mix of EN and JP, and eventually switched to mostly JP, with the fat cat being my oshi.
Makes me sad I dropped out before Fubuki debuted since she would have absolutely brought back my interest in streams early on.
