no, that's the excuse people who don't understand that math is written and solved exactly as written will say.

if the intention of the person who made the question was for it to be solved in another way, then there were ways to write it differently to make it clear.

example:
6/(2(1+2))
=1

if you do not write this question with the () around the part after the division then you must solve the division before the multiplication

in short, if you don't know the order of operations, then your answer may be different. someone claiming this is "vague" or has multiple answers doesn't know the order of operations. If the person who wrote it meant for the answer to be 1, then HE didn't know the order of operations.

math is not negotiable. there is a specific language to it, and if you don't use that language correctly you get wrong answers.
