it's actually depressingly common for two online friends who have had an excellent long-distance friendship up to that point to meet in person, have an awkward and uncomfortable time, and then return home to find the friendship pretty much dead. it happened to a lot of my friends, sadly - they met up with a long-distance friend or even partner, there was suddenly no more chemistry at all between them, and when they returned home they pretty much got ghosted by the other party. i had a friend once who was a fairly big youtuber, did a lot of videos with a bigger youtuber and started a relationship with them, they met up at a convention and did a bunch of vlogs in which you can see that the relationship died instantly as soon as they met in person. it was awful.

Weaker characters who complement and support stronger ones can often be more game breaking than just throwing together a party of character who all have the most attack power. The one thing Nijisanji did right was get people who can synergize with each other on stream, who're able to meet up for off collabs. Proximity and infrastructure are a huge buff when properly utilized, as Hololive JP showed. I don't think she meant it like that but holy fuck back then I did feel really bad for Kiara. This might be projection but she just seems like the type of person who gets really attached to people and probably constantly feels like she cares about all her friends more than they care about her, and I can really relate to that. Mori doesn’t have Narcissistic Personality Disorder. She’s not an autist. She’s not even a bad person. She just likes and admires people completely different from what you and I want to watch. She wanted to be people that I’ve spent a decade trying to ignore. The kind of interaction she had with Kiara was quite mild for streamerbros and it looked bad because Kiara cried instead of riffing back, and Mori isn’t quick enough socially to notice she’d gone too far or compensate for it.
