Question for the thread.
Which perspective is better if you're going for a 'narrator is a suprise' sort of thing, First person or Second person.
Normally the answer is First person since "I" can be used to dodge pronouns and narrator details until they can be used for the twist but Second person's "You" provides the exact same benefits while having the advantage of genre convention making the reader think it's them rather than a specific you, making the twist be more of a suprise.
So in theory if you're making a fic where you're hiding the identity of the narrator which one would be better?

Generally prefer 2nd person since the writing for 2nd person (at least in here and in quests) is closer to 1st person than to 3rd person so I generally prefer it since I like the 'attachment' to the narrator a good 1st person narrator can do especially within the confines of short 'low stakes' fiction like the kind the thread usually makes. Like honestly I'd like more 1st person fics but I understand using (Your RL Name) in a fic just sounds really fucking weird.

1st person fics limit the fic a lot by effectively killing off any potential of a narrator so I'd believe it to be the hardest to pull off.

From a smut perspective:
First person gives off the feeling of someone relaying to you their sexual experience. So first person female is hot because it's like hearing a girl talk about how good the sex she's having is, while first person male is lame because it's like a guy bragging about how much he has sex.
Second person, I'm a minority here but I just don't find it very appealing. It kills a lot of the individuality of the protagonist for the sake of easier self-insertion, which is just boring to me.
Third person is the easy, never-fails way. Can't go wrong with it and offers a wide range of perspectives.

Alright, so I finally finished reading chapter six of Holofantasy and WOW did AA knock it out of the park with that one. Not that any of the previous parts were worse or better than this one but my god was this a spectacle from start to finish.

I fucking loved that the main emotional core of this chapter was Anon learning to trust his friends and not do things on his own anymore and the fact that you even incorporated how he always somehow manages to eek out a win alone as part of his reasoning was brilliant. Even IF that part only happened due to a dice roll, you made it so natural that I wouldn't have known if you had not told us.
I was also a bit skeptical of the beginning when Marine was chosen by the Dice Gods to be Anon's companion for this journey but by the second part I was hooked and by the third part I was genuinely rooting for the ship to finally sail and by god was it worth it. I don't know what else to say about it but it felt 'earned', like you've been teasing us about this for a while and when it finally happened you just can't help but cheer even if I would've preferred someone else to have been with him *cough* Polka *cough*. God we need more clussy in the archive
Seeing the 'what if's' of this series was also interesting. I remember you talking about some of the possibilities a while back but I can't find it, seeing that some of the dark snippets in the afterlife was pretty surreal knowing it was only a few bad dice rolls away from happening. Some of the "achievements" our dear Anonymous failed was also interesting to see, what the hell would've happened had he not found the talisman? Or even the situation in which he'd fight Prescience? Overall? Pretty fun way to tell us about what could've happened in the context of the story.
Ina reading Holofantasy ALT was also fucking hilarious and her throwing the book at the end genuinely made me laugh while reading so good job. Honestly there were a ton of parts here that made me laugh also but I can't remember all of it so just know that this chapter had some fucking banger jokes hidden between the drama and the action.
Thinking about it, it was probably a good idea for me to wait this long until I actually sat down to read it because that ending scene with Rushia talking to everyone in the castle would've felt awful to read at the time it came out. It still hurts a bit when I read it but time has definitely made it easier to stomach. Did her termination have any bearing on what you wrote or did you already write that out and it just happened to fit?

All in all, the finishing this chapter made me feel kinda empty inside afterwards. Like you're sad that it's over but at the same time you can't wait to see what comes next for our intrepid hero if that makes any sense.

I was worried 6 suffered from scope creep but in the end it allowed me to better pace out some things, and I'm glad everything I tried landed, especially things with Marine and further solidifying the idea that "needing and accepting help is okay, regardless of what you can do by yourself".
The "what-ifs" were really fun to make, I think, given how much the dice have dictated everything and more or less brought Anon down an 'ideal' path. I sort of alluded to it with Mio, but basically the worse things went early on, the worse the world state/tendency would have been. The Castle could have been a lot worse, and Anon's 'personality' and world view as a result.
Failing to find the talisman would have lead to a more melancholic but hopeful ending - Anon *isn't* the prophesied hero, but at the very least there's more eyes on the people trapped there to try and help free them. Of course, he wouldn't have the Emerald Key, either...which may or may not have special uses. As for Prescience, it would most likely have to do with the aforementioned World Tendency leading to a far more aggressive character development where Anon is very much 'slash first, ask questions later'.
Rushia suddenly getting retired definitely threw a wrench into things. I wrote almost all that after the main fallout with everything involved, so it had time to sink in and people had time to shake off the rats and solidify their feelings, myself included.
I'm extra glad the jokes landed. I think comedic relief is important from time to time. I like stupid moments in stories where you can just laugh.
