She's my oshi, but I am not a gachikoi. I have a waifu I'm doing my /fit/ reps for instead. Late to start since I only started living on my own somewhat recently and can finally do this without worrying about waking up family, since they all worked nights, and the extra time wasted by going to a gym was not worth it to me.

Okayu album talk 1/3

Okayu’s wearing glasses today, and a flower in her hair, how does it look? She wanted to do the stream at 10 like usual today, but she’s been getting sleepy a little early, so she decided to start the stream early as well. Poisonyaa Syndrome is out now, so Okayu would like to talk about some of the process/thoughts about each song that happened behind the scenes. She’ll focus mainly on songs that released recently with the album. You ask if class is about to begin? Shall she teach you something they don’t teach you in school? Just kidding.

Has the album been delivered to everybody yet? Not everybody? By the way, it seems like Okayu’s grandma got her hands on a copy already. Right, she preordered it on Tsutaya. It seems like her favorite song is Kamisama Nekosama.

>Mogu Mogu Yummy
This one has been slightly remastered/tuned for the album, so people who are very discerning about that kind of stuff may notice the difference. Though she didn’t do a new recording or anything, so most people probably won’t notice. Okayu thought it should be the first song in the album, due to it being her first and probably most known song. Okayu thinks it’s usually a happy feeling when the first song that plays on an album is one the listener already knows.

Okayu has the instrumentals for all her songs today, and she’ll be playing them as she talks about the song in question. Before Korone released Doggy God’s Street, she let Okayu hear the instrumental, and Okayu thought it was fantastic and wanted FAKE TYPE to do a song for her to, so she got into contact with them. The beginning of the song sounds just like Korosan’s, doesn’t it? It’s secret Okakoro. The song is really hard to sing, Okayu warns, so you better practice if you plan on singing it at karaoke or something. She practiced everyday just to get it right. The song FAKE TYPE provided was so perfect that Okayu wondered if it needed her to sing for it. Okayu personally loves how the songs go from Yummy to Tummy. It rolls off the tongue easily.

>Akkanbe
Well, Okayu talked about this song quite a bit yesterday already, but she thought she’d talk about why she ended up doing a death growl for it. What do you think influenced her to do it? Aggretsuko? That’s the right answer? The anime that Mio loves and got Okayu to watch with her was the inspiration. Even if the VA switches for the metal segments in the show, Okayu still wanted to do it herself. Right, if not for Mio, this wouldn’t have happened. It was definitely a challenge. She would have just done some kind of gyaaa scream if she hadn’t been able to perform it. Mio’s the mama of the death voice? That sounds kind of ominous. When she recorded the song, they had her save it till the end due to how rough it can be on the throat, and fed her some super delicious pork-kimchi onigiri and miso soup before that part. So if you thought the death voice part smelled a bit like pork-kimchi, that’s why. Make sure to eat some if you’re having trouble with that part. She’s seen quite a few comments from overseas bros for the Akkanbe video when compared to other videos. They must like the metal/rock feeling to it. Please enjoy it.

Okayu’s strong singing feels like a new world? Right, she normally doesn’t sing songs like that, so it’s been a learning process for her. Akkanbe was actually the first song where she really learned how to do that, which is why she was able to carry that over to Dokuhai Swallow. Even though they released in the opposite order, she actually worked on Akkanbe first. She was able to go full power at the studio, but it definitely clips her mic when she tries to do it at her home one. Will that make them unlikely to pop up in utawaku? Not at all, she’ll just keep going through the clipping.

>Pabo
Okayu absolutely loves the bouncy music in this one. How are people liking it? You love it? That makes her so happy. The think about Pabo is that while most of the songs are going to get MVs on Youtube at some point, management told her that she has to have at least one song stay exclusive to the album. She got real spoiled and tried to complain, and management really did understand her feelings, but begged her to have at least Pabo remain album-only. Think of it like a bonus song. She’ll still sing it at times of course, the single just won’t be an upload. The others will have MVs though? That’s right. A lot of people probably misheard the “Shukkin(Going to work)” as “Shuki(Wuv)”, huh? Okayu thought it would be nice for Onigiryaa on their way to work to listen to. Give back your mishearings? She refuses.

>Kamisama Nekosama
Baachan’s favorite song. Karasuya Sabou’s works have already had quite a bit of involvement with hololive, like the Curry Meshi Song, and Okayu also believes he did Onegai Muscle too. She loves the Curry Meshi song, and thought it would be super fun to have a song by him. Okayu thinks the chorus call would make a live performance incredibly exciting, though that probably can’t happen right now with the current regulations. Okayu’s already seen what’s ready for the MV so far, and thinks it’s fantastic, so please look forward to it. The song was actually a real pain to record. Karasuya was there directing, but there’s a lot of line-readings in the song, like a Puyo character combo quote. The song’s also one of the longer ones too, so there was a ton of stuff to remember. Unlike the other songs, there was no real time to chat, she just hopped in the booth the second she made it to the studio. While Pabo and Lazyroop are more about Okayu supporting the Onigiryaa, the chorus in this song feels like the other way around to her. Please feel free to call out while watching online.

>Kohakutou
This song feels so pretty doesn’t it? Right, “The type of candy you listen to”. When Okayu heard herself saying that on the crossfade, she cringed a little. The more you listen to this song, the more it gets into your head. Originally the song was supposed to be about 3 keys higher, but it was pushing her throat to the limit, so it was lowered. If you sing it for karaoke, and put it up 3 keys, you’ll glimpse the worldline in which the song wasn’t changed. The whisper voice was actually layered on top, and was the idea of the sound mixer and the director. Not the same mixer who recommended the mic she bought. She works with a lot of people for this stuff. You love the little girl style singing? Eh? But Okayu’s a good adult. Beautiful Okayu? She then roleplays a mini skit:
“Did you drop this beautiful Okayu into the lake, or was it this dirty Okayu?”
“Eh? I’m not dirty! There’s just times where I wanted the Onigiryaa to think I was cute, so I piled on the mesu. I’m not really dirty or anything!”
You like both? If you said that, they’d definitely pick a fight with you, accusing you of copping out.

>Lazyroop
Another song that feels kind of like an emotional ending song to something. Natsushiro Takaaki was in charge of this one and complimented Okayu on her beautiful singing. That, and his direction were the things that left an impression on Okayu the most from working on this song. It’s another song about supporting the Onigiryaa, which works great lined up next to Detabareneko. It was debated whether to lower the song by a key or not, but they stuck with this. Okayu really loves this interlude here, though she remembers Takaaki asking her if it was okay or not. People who make music are really amazing. Okayu thought a lot about how they would even learn to make it in the first place. Okayu’s gotten way better at singing? She definitely feels like she learned more about how to record things properly, but she’s not good at telling if her actual singing is any better. She supposes that the people who listen to her sing a lot would be the best judges though, so she’s happy to hear that they think so. She’s getting so much praise from everybody, but it’s not like she’ll reward you with extracurricular lessons or anything.

>Orange Parade
The song that Okayu invited Korosan to sing with her in. It’s actually a miracle that this song made it into the album. Originally, Okayu only had the one song from FAKE TYPE completed, but one of the people in charge of the album(who also did a lot of work for the Akkanbe MV) was a huge Okakoro fan, and loved listening to both of those songs. Eventually they said “We really should just go all the way and have them make an Okakoro song.”. They all thought it would be nice, but the album was already near completion, but the person was determined, and ran off to try and start the process at mach speed. In the end, it worked out, but it was definitely close to not making it in at all. It’s great because Okayu and Korone talk all the time about wanting to do/release certain things together, but the two of them take things at their own pace so much that usually nothing actually happens. Even though they’re hanging out and going out to eat whenever they feel like it, you don’t see many collabs because they usually take some prep time. That’s why it’s good that they had management pushing them from behind to get this done. They’re like family. And stream with your family after eating dinner together, you just hang out and play games. Just recently, Okayu was over at Korosan’s, and they played Momotetsu together. The poor dog got King Bombi 3 times while he was attached to her. The name was thought up by FAKE TYPE, the result of mixing yellow and purple together, and Okayu loves it. She wanted the song to express their relaxed nature while also having a strong feeling to it. It feels like they’re in the center of a storm, and others around them are worried, but they just want everybody to relax and have fun with them.

Please look forward to her sololive at the end of the month. If you listen to her album a whole bunch, you’ll probably enjoy it even more. She’s getting real busy again in preparation for this thing; not only dance lessons, but lots of interviews too. She had interviews yesterday and today, in fact. Those who watched yesterday know, but she was so tired that she went to dive into her giant stuffed animal 2 hours into the superchat readings yesterday, and couldn’t come back. She was just too tired. The Onigiryaa were NTR’d by a doll.

Only played Korone of the new update thus far, but I cleared Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 1 (Hard) with her. Her personal weapon may be one of the worst in the game and her special is pretty lackluster imo, but her personal skill kit with Haste, Damage Reduction and Boosted Healing is insane when you start getting Collabs and Healing Items. Korone feels almost unkillable at times.
