Well...that's what the (and I shit you not) official museum of Hangul (which might as well be an annex to the National Museum of Korea next door in the same development) says about THE VOWELS, not the consonants and shit.

Korean is actually one of the easier Asian languages to learn because they made it simple. Almost all Asian languages are a clusterfuck of difficulty on their own. Chinese has Hanzi and Tones. Japanese is difficult because of Kanji, pitch accent and particles. Thai has unusual grammar and word pronunciations. Tagalog, Turkish and Arabic are insanely difficult because of the unusual VSO structure, sentence agglutination and especially Tagalog with inverse/focus conjugative markers. The only easy Asian languages are Korean and Indonesian.

To be fair, as a Malay, even Bahasa Melayu has their own level of politeness, called bahasa biasa/standard (citizen speak) and bahasa istana (royal speak).

That being said, bahasa istana and bahasa biasa aren't that different to each other since bahasa istana is more like a Malay language but with archaic words and not as abundant and different as Javanese form of language. Pitch accent is nowhere near as difficult nor as imporant as people make it seems to be - you'll be perfectly understood without dedicating any time to specifically it as well be able to understand people just fine.

Also, it varies from region to region anyway.
