Okay I'm going to answer sort of seriously because you seem to still have the common misconception that their goal is to wed the chuuba or something.
People should believe the "gachikoi" when they say that they don't actually see a remote possibility of getting together with the person. Sure, maybe they 'want' it, but they're never going to put any effort towards doing something about it like getting to know the roommate because that's just "wrong". They want the vtuber to 'love' chat as a whole, with them being part of chat, a mostly faceless person among many faceless people.
Let's put it this way. Imagine you're running a marathon with tens of thousands of people. No one cares about the first place in this case because it's clearly not set up to emphasize that. If there's any prizes, it's a formality, because the event is for the masses, and making all the non podium winners feel bad is counterproductive. But if you're running a race with ten people, suddenly what you do matters. And that's horrifying.
A 2view who actually can notice individual viewers is the absolute worst. Because if you have the possibility of 'winning', you also have the possibility of losing. If you have a real chance, that means the other 99 people do too. People would rather give up any possibility of winning (getting in a real personal relationship with the chuuba) so they can eliminate the risk of losing (having someone else get in a real personal relationship).

The general thing is that even if you voice you dislike male+female collabs because that's not what you're here for, people pile on you for saying that and the talents themselves will probably do it more out of pure spite. See: Mori. This is not the case for the holos like Bae that support literally everyone and have repeatedly said she wants to collab with literally everyone in the company.

When the content makes a sudden change, that's when people start to express dislike. Unicorn memeword aside, that's a genuine piece of criticism. Which is true, good on them. That does not make any of them immune to criticism regardless of how many people leave or stay because they agree or disagree with it. All she has to do is state her position on the matter clearly and ensure the fans that some collabs might happen, but it won't be her main focus.
