The general rule of thumb is Twitch if your content is primarily based on livestreaming and YouTube if your content is primarily pre-recorded and edited.

First, ask yourself if you would watch a streamer of your skill and experience. Second, do a check on social media and look to see if other streamers are already creating similar content. Don't limit yourself to vtubers, include traditional real life streamers to scope out a potential audience.

Hey you vtubers, I have a question for you. Say some viewer bankrolled a large sum of money, let's say like the yearly salary of a median wage worker in the states in one lump sum donation with some stipulations on how you should behave on streams and interact with your audience, with promise for more finanical support in the future. Would you take the money and do everything in your power to make that viewer happy? Would you take the money & tell the groomer to fuck off? What would you do?

There wouldn't even be any outrageous asks even, probably more the kind of stuff a manager would ask you if you worked for a corp as far as your stream behaviour or content is concerned.

It's interesting to me that lots of people are interested in getting into corpos where they would get the same sort of management, less promise of financial gain (as it would actually require you to do well), without the garuntees of actually getting in. Yeah, that makes all the difference. It's unsolicited management from someone I don't know personally. I can't say that I agree there would necessarily be less promise of financial gain if I were to get that corpo job that I want; there's a salary and I would likely stick around for longer than a year.

People embrace the corpo dream for the prestige and reputation they would get in their CVs, money is secondary. Hundreds of thousands of people irl join big name firms for the same reason, those firms have relatively shit pay for constant 60-80 hours work weeks, but you would get enormous project exposure from them and also access to top level decision makers that you could never dream of if you're in a small company

Oh we do have one, I've been a long time viewer and I feel there is already a certain level of trust established since we've know eachother for a while, and I don't even want special treatment over the other viewers. Not really. My network wasn't as big as holo by any means but still got around 100 to 200 million views a month at some points. What I looked for wasn't some one who can do it all. Because I don't need you to do it all. I had editors , writers etc who were good at their jobs. I needed talent in a personality sense. Now this was for prepared content. And since holo focuses on live content, I would imagine they are looking for live performers, showing your scripted content is good, but I'd instantly look at your live content. But holo would simply move on. This came up a lot in the network though I ran. An artist would wish to join. We would review some of their portfolio pieces, they would be great but we'd notice their general gallery was half the level of skill. Now it could be that they don't put effort into their public gallery but that's an issue on its own. The biggest issue is the consistency. How consistent is your work. Looking at this person, their streams are kind of bland. Nothing that sticks out. Now I could be wrong since I only ran stuff for proto vtubers (a lot of our members were rantsonas) and it's diffrent now. But that's my take. Don't feel you need to get a super edited video. Just be good at the one thing they need. Being entertaining and marketable.
