I actually do think NijiEN will surpass HoloEN within a year or two by virtue of their top talents (Luxiem) still being motivated and pushing more content than the top girls in HoloEN. They stream consistently, they collab often to bring other eyes to their branch, and they still have time to release songs and covers. Compared to HoloEN, which is allergic to streaming, it's kind of inevitable that the corpo that actually streams will overtake the other one. It's also unfortunate that Gura has seemingly decided to coast on her success and basically not stream or produce content, because she really could have done a number on the EN landscape if she went full numberfag in her prime. Thing is, it IS actually helping, but compared to a Holo event or Holo related buzz, it's far too few over the years because the event is the same.
First Koshien maybe had 100k or something, and a lot of those would have checked out a few Niji livers here and there.
Second one with 200k, had 100k new people, same thing, but there were a lot more livers so a lesser percentage of people checked them out.
with 300k, it's even fewer because with ridonkulous and voltorb, there are just far too many shitters nowadays.

If they were there for only there for Koshien, then I don't see much reason for funnel.
Unlike Hololive, there's no culture in Niji where you have a 2nd or 3rd oshi that you watch when your favourite isn't streaming.
