which one did you play? if it's EO1 i can understand! it's the most brutal and difficult out of all (due to the lack of QOL that it's sequels offer) whenever i recommend EO to newcomers and beginners, i always suggest EO3 since it's quite balanced regarding difficulty and it's QOL. i then suggest EO1 if they're more interested lore-wise since the plot twist really was the best

you can also try untold 1 and 2 if it's unbearable it offers more insight to the first and second game but you won't lose much if you try untold

I'm still working on a backlog from the 1 hour period. 4 people streaming for 1 hour at a time, some times with 2 streams a day, plus my JP oshi and JP events like the 3D lives is far more than I have time for, especially on week days, and even on weekends I don't want to spend the entire day just watching archives.
It's fine, I'll just eventually give up on watching every stream, but the boys are really enjoyable to watch, so that will be a shame.

Altare streams in the best slots for my time zone/my personal schedule, and I love him, so I've caught almost all of his, and Axel is my oshi, so I catch what I can from him and try to check out his VODs when I can, but Magni I only watch when he's doing something I'm really interested in and Vesper I barely see at all.

it's alright! you gave it your shot! for 7th dragon there's no cartography so you don't have to proactively map like EO but it does mark the places you walked in the overworld! i prefer EO because it makes me feel like i'm in a journey since i have to map the places i've been (and put markers on the map) it's definitely a feature that's not for all

Mithos did literally nothing wrong and was completely justified in his mission. I'm glad he didn't become a repentant antagonist or antihero in the finale of the game. He even hesitates when Genis befriends him, even if he ultimately never wavers in his convictions. His final words to Lloyd even confirm that had circumstances been different, they probably could have walked the same path of heroism together.

It's probably my favorite Tales game, and up there as one of my favorite RPGs. By today's standards, the plot and characters are probably a little dated and cliched, but I still really enjoy how well executed every single shonen/JRPG trope is. The combat definitely shows its age in comparison to more modern action-based JRPGs, because Symphonia was an in-between step of the old 2D style combat from previous games and the full 3D arena style from Abyss onwards.

Also, I don't think any Tales game (besides Xillia 2) had branching story paths that changed cut scenes, and even available party members, while still keeping the entire structure of the game in tact. (ex. at one point you're tasked with securing passage across the ocean, but you can physically walk around the world map and across a strait, which brings you to part of the world you wouldn't normally be in until 10+ hours later, and when you do eventually make your way back down to where you were supposed to go, cut scenes and story beats are changed slightly to reflect how you did them out of sequence)
