The only ones who are playing the game as it was intended is Matsuri, Pekora, Miko, Koyori, Suisei, Polka and Roboco.
Some use more aggressive strategies like Matsuri trying to invade Polka's base or Suisei killing Subaru without a word, while others are more defensive like Polka making a underground base and Roboco creating traps around her base.
Everyone else is playing Stardew Valley. Perhaps the only one excusable is Fubuki since she literally created a farm by the river with club light and music which is hilarious.

Been a few years myself, but qrd is that some locations have better loot distributions and have may have roaming patrols. For example, the Dome in the west has pretty great loot at the very top and no guards. You're more likely to die due to bad jumps or other players. The east has a few abandoned supermarkets and powerplant, which means food is not really an issue and there's decent amount of loot you can get though most of it is crafting stuff.

In addition, each biome has different weather conditions and natural resources. Winter biomes have more sulfur (gunpowder stuff) but have a debuff of cold. Meaning if you're not properly equiped you'll take damage over time. That's the south. The north looks like a desert biome, which has more metal but has the heat debuff. Same idea as before. The center looks like a mixture of forest and plains biome, meaning no debuff with plenty of stone and wood.

Thanks. Fubuki is keeping the spirit of the game alive then. Rust is best when you have a few schizos on the sever who maintain public buildings for the hell of it. So I respect it. I hope the actual players absolutely mogg the stardew valley crew, they deserve it. If they want that experience, go back to minecraft.

Snow isn't inherently bad but there are no good monuments there so less incentive to build. I would personally build somewhere near where Kaela did, Junkyard and Supermarket provides green cards, which you would use at Satellite Dish, which would provide you a blue card to farm Water Treatment Plant with. Proximity to water allows you to build a place to store your boats, which you can then use to run Small/Oil Rig for uncontested loot. I hope they reset the map next month because this one fucking sucks, though.

I don't know. I'm looking at L11 and it seems like a really good spot to build. You're right about the other stuff, but that Sulfur Quarry seems really juicy. I'd go there and then raid the other talents with a FOB at O9. Even if it's just a simple sniping spot you could do major damage.

L11 is definitely a good base for an established group that can handle the scrap costs of a minicopter but I feel it's a bit too remote to be worth it as a solo player. Running quarries isn't that worth it anymore, the time and effort spent watching and controlling one is easily beat by planting berries and making tea, which is easily accomplished even with just two small farm plots. Maxed out ore tea plus a jackhammer and you'll have more sulfur in one run in the snow than you ever would with the quarry. That being said, O9 would make an excellent FOB you're right. I imagine the girls would have no counter for someone roofcamping there, which I'd love to see, but will never happen.

>>31064688
As mentioned in >>31064710 I would make a beeline for L11. I'm unsure how good of a spot it is in reality, but it's location on the map provided looks so good. Even something like I5 looks decent.

My guess is that last month was the "discovery" era where they first played the game in just that small group, this month is the "gathering era" where more of them starts playing and learning about how to play the game, and then only next month would they set proper rules and teams, which would be the "tribal era" or something like that.

I think if nothing big happens by the end of this month, such as a lot of the stardew valley players being raided by a combined force of the hunters, there won't exist a reason for most of them to continue to play. That's weird. I'm all for "all out war on wipe day", but Rust is a game that benefits with more conflict. It might sound weird, but the economy of the game needs it to some degree. If a meek player with no weapons suddenly gets access to a gun with decent ammo, via the means of a kitted out player dying due to rads or bleeding out, that meek player is now an active threat in that area. It makes the whole game feel far more dramatic.
Additionally, that meek player now has a means to defend themselves as they explore areas to get better loot. They migh die and lose some of it, but they'll most likely come out with an equal or greater amount of decent loot.

Matsuri said that there's only 2 rules.

1. You can only raid if both you and the other played are online in the server(they don't need to be present in the base and you don't need to publicly announce your raid). Or you have to publicly announce your raid(through twitter) and the other party needs to accept the challenge.
2. Traps are only allowed around your base's perimeter.

The first rule is their attempt to give the attacked party a chance for self-defense while the second rule is probably so you won't place hidden traps around the map or somebody else's base.

Those are fair. They're pretty standard for Rust servers that I used to play on. If those are the only rules then it's literally just weak-willed players not wanting to kill. If they want to larp, at least make a small buisness and larp that way. Seems silly to play Rust and not wanting to hunt others.

>> No.31067843

I think the "perimeter" they're talking about is confined to the tool shed's radius. Not all traps, as far as I remember, need to be built within a radius from the shed. For example beartraps can be placed anywhere. Also, having lots of traps active at the same time also lags the server. So they're probably trying to mitigate that a bit.

It would be boring if they are normal rust streamers. It will be fucking interesting because they are Holos who are tame as fuck. Imagine the drama if Peko's base is destroyed to bits. And it happened again the next when she starts from scratch.
Literally nothing like this has happened in Holo history before. Has to be fucking interesting before the drama becomes super tiresome.

Not happening though. And there many Youtube rust content that don't involve braindead vengeance.

I watched it live, it was fucking awesome, Polka stalked Matsuri and took her down like
batman.

I also wanted to see the alternative timeline where Matsuri has actually brought enough explosives to tear down Polka's main gate (Matsuri reduced its durability down to 10~20% last time). I wonder Polka can still fend off Matsuri if the door was broken.

That clip of Polka vs Matsuri leaves out some of the better parts, like Matsuri saying she just "wants Polka to bleed a little bit", and if Polka opens the door, she'll "only loot a bit" of Polka's stuff. And capped of with Polka in chat, after the kill, typing "Are you frustrated? ". Hope we see more of that kind of interaction.

Well Polka has a second door behind it, as well as a shotgun trap between the two, so as soon as Matsuri moved up to target the second door, there's a good chance she'd have gotten blasted. Barring that, Polka does have the height advantage even in her base, so she has the advantage the whole way.

Wanna watch more of these stuff. But the virtuous looting and no cooldown respawn are big problems.

1) If Matsuri breaks in and kills Polka, Polka would spawn immediately (no cooldown) Matsuri has no way to win this raiding game. Or at insane disadvantage.

2) Imagine Matsuri and Polka have a fucking war and battle of wits, and Matsuri ends up winning like a movie protagonist. But Masturi decided to take only a few items from Polka base, or ended the raid by saying she loves Polka. That would be so underwhelming or unsatisfying. The raid itself has no real risk/stake and reward. Of course it's is too brutal if Matsuri takes everything from Polka base.
THEY NEED TO SET a rule to determine the max reward of successful raid (not too lovey dovey and not too brutal)

>Polka in chat, after the kill, typing "Are you frustrated? "
I remember that well, that was perfect. The tone and timing. It was like watching a movie.
Sadly not many Holos are willing to go beyond "I love you senpai, see you next time, bye bye"

>The only rule I have heard about is no stream sniping
This statement could be a little misleading. The actual rule is asking chat not be pigeons (that report activity of other Holos).

Steam snipe usually means a player is looking at the stream of another player, thus getting advantages which are originally allowed by the game.

She understands Rust's gameplay loop which is grind-get big gun-fuck other's base-(if die) repeat from step 1-(if success) repeat from step 3. Due to many factor such as environment threats, how quickly you get weapons, how powerful the weapons are and the consequence of dying, play Rust as a survival game with base building is just wrong, A good scale for the aforementioned factors is ark-dayz-rust-pubg .

Pekora rolling up with a boom box on her shoulder is actually hilarious to me. I didn't know rust had this kinda stuff.

I gotta start watching some of these. who should i keep tabs on?

Watch Pekora, Miko, Suisei, Matsuri and Polka for the highest chance at violence (although it can just randomly erupt for anyone). If you had to watch only one I'd say Pekora for maximum entertainment value.

Not really. It's boring as hell.
>but my epic griefing game!
It's boring as hell.
Only salvation is that it's proving some amusing interactions between holomems, but it's still boring as all fucking hell.
