Leeching Luxiem and the offcollabs helped some, and she already had decent sub growth from the start (#1 of Ethyria) but it's spamming shorts that put her over the top. She figured out how to game the algorithm, at the expense of making her channel archive a complete mess. Pomu does the same thing now, though not to the same degree, and it's helped her catch up to Elira. Pomu actually has a lot of real fans though so she has good viewership not just junk subs.

Nina, in all her history as a content creator, has always repeatedly given up trying to entertain people as a solo streamer, she consistency fell into this trap of feeling like she needed to rely on creating "viral interest" in her by making drama and doing collabs
There were times in her PL where she was getting more CCV and paid donations than now in Nijisanji, this was, like I said, due to her trying to drum up artificial interest in her channel through means other than just being solely entertaining on her own.

What this tells us is that Nina has never changed who she was, she always intended to chase after viral interest and using the nijiboys to do it, instead of finally growing as a content creator and becoming entertaining in her own right.
Her first few weeks in nijisanji, all she did was beat "hi honey" like a dead horse, specifically because she knew it would drum up viral interest in her if she became a parody for the people who hated the trend

I think the only bit of content she has ever made that's truly unique to her, is anthropomorphizing her tail with glasses and giving it a personality, more of that kind of content would have done wonders for actually cultivating an audience, as opposed to just chasing virality

At some point she just stopped playing anything but Minecraft and her every other stream was I'M BACK after like a week of absence and then there's just more Minecraft. I used to watch her when she played some cool vidya and had funny collabs like the first Lucky Dragon or French with Rosemi but now I open her waiting room and it's either Minecraft or some comeback stream and I'm simply not interested in that content.
