I don't think the bubble will ever technically burst. Vtubing is simply a thing now. Too lucrative for the entertainers, the artists and the companies to give up, and it's not so different than utaites in Japan or roleplaying in the west

That said, I don't think new fans will really come into it. Most popular vtubers in the west fill their own niche. What else is there to attract?

Now, this is about to happen on a massive scale in HoloEN since Niji never targeted unicorns in the first place.

Do you have proof of that? With viewer graphs you often see an audience split when it comes to waves 1-3 and waves 4/5. If the audience was replaced then you'd have huge amounts of male member representation cropping up on the girls graphs, but they are much lower, often times Holo EN girls showing up as overlap over the Niji boys. This is over half a year after the fact of Luxiem dropping.

It's hard to calculate but the easiest method is to keep track of oil barons - which is a lot easier on Twitch for some reason due to viewerlists and subs lists.
One of the biggest migrations I did see happen live was the move from Veibae to Shylily, which blew up almost overnight.
Now Vei did not lose much on numbers, because her regular audience got replaced with Soda's, but her barons left for Shilily, which acts as buoyant indicating where her missing numbers went as well. From there they spread to other liggers and now the Twitch indie scene is full of Nyanners' and Vei's ex goslings/ oilers.
I can reasonably assume the same thing happened to the Niji girls.

Nyan also streams rarely. From what im seeing their drop in sub gifts and the like correlates with their lack of streams, Nyan had 2-3 May streams and only had like 2.7k subs, June and July she was up almost 2k to around her 4-5k average. All in all it seems oilers care more for how much one streams rather than if one has a bf, Lily for example streams daily pretty much.

Niji is oversaturating the market with it's constant release of waves. They believe quantity is better than quality. In other words, they have the same mindset as Activision did when they milked Guitar Hero to literal death.

Their hiring policies are based on numbers so that's their idea of quality but in reality it's a crapshoot because it could mean that the streamer has hit their ceiling or needs exposure to grow. It's why every wave is so imbalanced in popularity.
Hololive is more secure since it treats hiring more like an actual talent scout so the talents have a lot less variety in popularity within each generation barring one of them being a complete outliner in either direction.

Streaming has very low entry requirements and young people unable to find work means more potential streamers (competing for a shrinking slice of the pie, true, but the cream will rise to the top so it doesn't matter, and with diminishing economic opportunities in general, streaming looks more appealing, not less)
