As a general rule most here don't mind shipping, the problem stem more around Mori's poor abilities when it comes to roleplay and generally keeping up appearances. A divide grew in the post-Japan arc when Mori became distant at a time Kiara really could've done with support. There is something of a sentiment that Takamori is driven more by people who like the concept (lore implications, self insert as Kiara, etc), while something like Pavonashi is driven by their interactions or talking about each other. Takamori is so very set in the fan image, especially artists, that it'll probably remain the most visible even if demand for actual Takamori streams is fairly low.

If you're talking about /here/, I suspect the breakdown is something like this - the majority of people doesn't care either way, they just passively tolerate it if they have to. Some people are for it because at least the fanart/porn is good (I don't think there's anybody here who actually "ships" them in a serious way otherwise), and some people dislike it for various reasons (either because of general dislike of Mori and wanting to see less of her, and/or because of specific dislikes/grudges of how shit the "Takamori" dynamic was actually during its existence, what with Mori being too often just a grumpy bitch about it, making Kiara have to do all the carrying and having her come off worse for it, basically having her character flanderized into just "calli's wife" for a while, etc.) and are glad it's over.

well, i guess to redirect to a new topic i'll give a tourist impression of kiara. not necessarily my favorite in Myth, and i never went out of my way to watch her but i respect the hustle if nothing else. not that i buy into gura bait, but i do get the sense that only kiara (and a little bit ame) really get how nice their jobs are and appreciate it, and for that alone are willing to hustle and put the work in.
i also respect her being super cosmopolitan. definitely feels like without her, and then ID, the bridge between branches would be completely broken. it's easy to imagine a world where she wasn't in Myth, and EN and JP just completely didn't interact.

Now that's a crack ship. As for how Kiara would react, idk, she seems to have calmed way down about Pekora over time. Or actually, it was just the first few weeks where she was really overboard with it ("Pekora mentions" so much you could've made a drinking game out of it. At least we now have "Ame mentions" about a friend who she actually interacts with regularly instead).

I don't know what was going on in Kiara's mind during those first weeks that she thought the constant Peko shoutouts were a good idea. Sure, simplest most reasonable explanation was that she was just giddy about finally being in the same company as her oshi and gushing is how she expresses her adoration, but positioning yourself as "the fangirl" never really goes well and devalues your own character because you're always just the sidekick of another. Or if she actually thought it would get her closer (the "anti" explanation, oh no this is all just a calculated ploy of hers to leech!), it didn't work either. Pekora is one of the more reclusive Holos and doesn't respond well to aggressive approaches from new people (see how Pekora developed more organic interactions instead with Moona, who just did the silent Minecraft autist thing instead of coming on too strong and fangirling).

Anyway, she got over it and got it out of her system, again not in a "they totally hate each other now!" kinda way but simply growing accustomed to being in the same company as Pekora so it's not something you need to gush over every day and also realizing that everybody is so busy now that the chance for interactions is pretty low so you should just focus on the actual friends who you can regularly hang out with instead.

"Workrate" is one of the things that even many non-fans can otherwise appreciate about her. Especially contrasted when some other previous favored ENs have had their missteps and gotten lazier with their breaks, Kiara's consistency has been recognized as a positive quality in itself ("...hey, at least she streams...").

I wouldn't say that some Holos don't "appreciate" the job, but rather that they are happy just being a passive passenger coasting with no real drive to make anything more special happen than just going through the rote motions of "uh, idk, I guess I just play [x] game for a while, that should be enough..." streaming.
Kiara is one of the few ENs who seem to have some actual greater ambitions to deliver content beyond the bare minimum low-effort basic streams (the others being Ame with her VR projects and Mori with her music. I don't like her cringe wigger rap but I can admit she puts her work into it), see for example how she puts out a lot of music (aside from the dedicated "music Holos", she probably has put out the most music during her time, or close to it).

As for her being a social facilitator, yeah that is an underappreciated quality. It was especially noticeable during the first days when it was only Myth, so 4 people of various autismo flavors and only one outgoing one, and oh boy were there some awkward collabs in the mismatch, with Kiara being basically the only one who tried to carry conversations or make anything happen while the rest were just mumbling "so...uuuh.. yeah... what do we do now?..." around any attempt at actual banter. This also got her an unfair reputation because antis seized on it with "omg orange woman is so overbearing and annoying with her talking too much" yeah well anyone would stand out when having to work with four wet-blanket wallflowers.

But anyway, it got better over time, as both the rest of Myth learned to open up and talk more and Kiara got accustomed to the vibe of her mates and everyone got more natural and comfortable around each other so collab conversations flow more freely now. Also the introduction of Council who are less autistic plus interactions with ID helped build chemistry beyond the initial awkward Myth group

well, i guess by appreciate i mostly meant that creative work of any kind is an incredible blessing and that's actually a really hard thing for creative people to realize. writing, for example, has all kinds of miseries. be a writer for a long enough and you can get a warped perspective by forgetting how bad the grind can really get in comparison.
for vtubers, i do think people underestimate how deleterious kayfabe-ing can get. what people don't realize is that it's not the hours that are hard. it's that, one, almost every chuuba is someone who was already pretty mentally ill and somewhat fragile already. two, it's actually pretty hard to learn the emotional skills necessary not to self-alienate when you play a role. what's hard isn't the grind, but that there's a natural occupational hazard for anhedonia inherent to streaming.
anyway, this is all to say that kiara's pushing through it and flourishing in spite of some huge debuffs shows someone who's, at the very least, resilient and worldly. you can just tell that even though she gets what makes the job difficult, she also understands just how shitty the world can be. not that the other Myth members don't. but in my experience, people who only kind of get it tend to suffer from crippling guilt more than anything else, and embarrassment over who they are -- which tends to lead to fast burnout and less streaming. it's only when you really "get it" that what you experience isn't just guilt, but a sense of genuine gratitude and happiness. being lucky enough to feel how lucky you are, so to speak. it's an attractive quality
