Anyone else feel Like The Vtubing Scene is incredibly stagnant right now? I swear every vtuber is either doing GFE or playing the same games as everyone else. It honestly feels like mainstream tv at this point. I just wish a Vtuber would do something new besides Singing Zatzudan or FOTM game.

Its always been like this. Vtubers are just streamers with an avatar. You just feel its stagnant only now probably because you're new. Earlier last year we had Ark as the big thing that both Niji and Holo played that some were sick of. APEX, MC, Ark, Among Us, MonHun, etc. trends are trends. 17 million on a single video is not dead, and MOST uploads get more than live streams. Also Gura’s past life had many millions on each video. Now the question becomes why… It’s because YouTube was designed for that sort of content, and has viewers looking for it, while live streaming is a side thing that gets less interest.

You do know there's travel restrictions, right? A lot of the events that they would've otherwise had to add variety to their day-to-day are hampered by the fact that they can't go out and do shit that's actually interesting. Hololive, Nijisanji and Kizuna Ai in particular have it bad since they can't really do their live performances with crowding restrictions.

The other aspects of this is the fact that we are also kept at home which makes viewers constantly pay attention and lose the sense of novelty to VTubing much faster.

An important part of hololive's appeal is how real and casual they are in daily streams, compared to other well-produced vtubers before their era. I see no problem with casual daily streams, and then once in a while they upload special prerecorded content. Heck, that's what the main channel of hololive specializes in (skits, game shows etc.).

Each ultimately supports the other. The issue is that it only goes so far on YouTube. Oddly, Calli’s 17 million view video actually grew not just her channel, but the other EN channels as well. Just as Gura IS THE REASON the other EN streamers are as big as they are as well. It’s something most people just don’t understand.
