Sana was very different to not only the EN members, but the entirety of Hololive. If her accent, model or games didn't filter you, she was extremely charming when she did stream. Enough to create a strong attachement with few streams because you'd need that Sana fix (if it was your thing). Now she's gone, there's no one to replace that personality, not even in Tempus (as great as they are). I've managed to move on but I can understand some Sanallites still struggling, especially the schizos. Most people that shit on Sana simply didn't watch her. Her collabs during the last 2 weeks were a great showcase of her unique energy, especially the ID3, IRyS and Watame collabs. The art stream too. The Kobo and Kaela collabs were some of the best I've seen in 2 years.

The issue here is a representation bias. Even if 99% of a vtuber fangroup understand this, you will only see the few who don't. So I don't think their fans are generally as disrespectful as it may look, but the few who are will flood every recent and popular thing they find.

Ina and Sana knew each other for at least a decade maybe longer because both deleted thousands of tweets on the same day (+100k tweets between the two).
Ina was the only one in Myth with a big FF14 background. The only one with a strange active mod (AO) that loved showing up in chat (never before seen in holo) that also had FF14 background. AO eventually gets unpersoned.
Council debuts in August. Ina's long time friend in there.
Omega1 also debuts with Council and proceeds to insert himself everywhere. Like AO, this incompetent retard had a FF14 background and loved showing up in chat.
November: Pekora streams FF14, it's a mess. Then Irys streams FF14 with a lot of help/advice from Ina. Also a messy stream, she never touched the game again.
Kiara complained on stream about people in management pushing FF14 hard, trying to make it a thing for them (according to me this was a key conflict were Myth learned to push their weight around).
Ina says she will never stream FF14 on a marshmallow stream in December.
Cover does something about holoEN... and Omega1 says goodbye in January (not november)

I have a new oshi but she's a Niji.
I really like IRyS too though, her RE and Mega Man content proved to me she's a(n unintentionally) strong solo streamer. I think it has to do with how incredibly authentic she comes across which I've found is important to me and also how, since she isn't forced to stream so much, she doesn't have as much filler content (which also helps the first point). Even her chats manage to be interesting to me, like a glimpse into a world that's really different from my own but still "adjacent" if that makes sense. If she keeps this up I see myself membering eventually.
There's another HoloEN I was initially fond of but they're too adept at targeting my gachi weakpoints so I don't think it's healthy to keep watching them and their fanbase doesn't help.

I think it depends on where Hololive Alumni end up. All of this is relatively new and unlike actors we don't have a solid understanding of where performers end up after their role has ended. People also understand actors are playing a role and that once the show is over that's the end of the experience. Vtubing is much more intimate and I'm not sure how many fans are even capable of separating the character and the performer. Looking at this thread I'm betting a lot of fans don't even want to know the person behind the character.
