The black death has literally existed for thousands of years. Massive cities existed in northern europe during the Augsburg and Trypillian cultures, proto-civilizaitons that predated the mesopotamians by hundreds of years and they got absolutely dabbed on by the black death because it turns out civilization is the enemy of civilization.

Packing humans into large settlements inevitably creates disease. Mumei as the packer of people/civilization is literally also a harbinger for disease and disaster that comes with it.

When you think about what Council was supposed to be, it's obvious they are meant to be all these different aspects of existence like The Endless from The Sandman or something. So in that scenario, Fauna and Mumei are the low-level opposites within the universe (nature vs. civilization), Kronii and Sana are the universe itself (time and space) and Bae is the wild card (chaos). But they're all zoomers so they all hate humanity and thus civilization just ends up being evil and chaotic because she wants to be thought of as a psycho and somehow nature is the good one and completely unlike actual nature? I mean, the reason it's stupid is because they aren't playing characters, they are just being themselves and the characters they were given don't fit themselves. But civilization is supposed to be the good part of humanity, nature is the bad part. Humans returning to nature is going back to raping and murdering and genocide and so on. Humans leaving nature is labcoats and clean energy and UBI and space communism and whatever else utopians dream of. Omega was 100% a mistake. Lore can be fun, and playing into it should be required to some extent. It creates many great things. The problem with EN but especially Council is their lore is so fucking retarded. Like it's not lore about Hololive anymore, it's lore about reality itself which just gets dumb for what is supposed to be cute anime girls doing cute anime things. The other Council girls had room to play around though because they are pretty vague as concepts, it's Mumei who was given the worst lore because her lore isn't about her as a character, instead its about all of human history.
