>>30047880
The climate and biome situation in /warkop/ is... not good. It's true that for northern /warkop/, the cold climate is influenced by its high elevation (I operate under the assumption that the yellow colour on the height map is at least 1,000m above sea level, which would put it beyond the tree line if not even the snow line). Still, the issue with /warkop/ is that its elevation decrease coincides with latitude increase, so the two factors would roughly cancel each other out and make the land almost uniformly frigid, with the main exceptions being the western and eastern coast of the country due to their relatively low latitude and elevation.

Still, as it stands, odds are even the most temperate area of /warkop/ will be considered a subarctic climate, meaning the land will be dominated by boreal forest, which can provide a decent amount of wood, peat, and reindeer, but agriculture will be arduous at best. Northern and southern /warkop/, on the other hand, will likely be tundra through and through due to the issues mentioned above, meaning that barring isolated patches of very cold-resistant trees like Siberian larch, the biggest plant that will grow there would be moss and lichen. The situation is slightly less bleak in the south because access to the sea means it is possible to fish and whale for food and some other animal-derived material.

As I said before, though, the fictional nature of this world means that it is probably a better idea to fudge the situation a bit if that would result in a better setting for creation and stories. As shown in picrel, the southern coast of /warkop/ has a warm current flowing through it. While it is likely a rather weak current and its effect would be counteracted by a lack of shelter from the subarctic wind, it can be argued that it can still bring enough warmth to the land to allow for a strip of subarctic climate along the coast to allow for tree growth. It would likely be a mostly seasonal boreal forest dominated by deciduous conifers like the aforementioned larches. The southernmost ones will probably be twisted into tuckamores or banner trees because of their exposure to the polar wind, but more sheltered ones should be upright enough for easy use.

Regardless, barring food import and supernatural elements like magic, hunting and fishing will be vital for most /warkop/ people to survive, as the few plants that could be grown there (mostly berries, maybe some fungi?) will not be enough to support a significant human population.

As for geology, /warkop/ fares better in that a good chunk of its land is orogen, so they will be mineral-rich like other places with active progeny. What is stated in the Western Niji overview should apply to this region fairly well. For southern /warkop/, things are somewhat worse, because its surface rocks will be mostly sedimentary, which does not tend to have a lot of mineral resources - /kr/ is an exception because its sedimentary strata are primarily formed by weathering of old orogens, which does not seem to be the case for /warkop/ (my guess is that it's part of the former continental shelf lifted up by riding the nijiKR plate). The fact that most of the bedrock will likely be encased in permafrost also makes deep mining difficult and probably hazardous, but that is something that can be mitigated by technology.

Throwing people into it might not help that much, though, as mining deep requires expertise that you generally can't coerce out of people, especially when said people can easily cause a cave-in if they want to harm you. In this case, chances are the most valuable thing you can dig up in the south would be peat from the wetland, which could be useful as fertiliser and heating fuel. Bog iron might be present as well, though likely not as abundant due to the long frozen winter, and is much less significant than in, say, /risu/, because of the minerally rich north.

At least they have minerals. Even if they do have to quarry mine for them. While tunnel mining is doable as there's very little risk to floods, it depends on your wood and vents. Also in winter the mines are too cold to survive. Sanalites could tunnel mine in winter because of their space suits and oxygen tanks. /warkop/ don't have space suits. Then again there's a risk of quarries filling up with snow. If its dry tundra snow then there isn't much risk in floods. Just some thoughts.

No problem! It's actually pretty scenic, too.

>Climate
The climate of /wg/ is temperate in more than one way - the mid-latitude warm current flowing along its coast means it has fairly stable weather, as shown by its oceanic (also known as maritime west coast) climate. On Earth, this climate is most famously observed in northwestern Europe and New Zealand, although it can also be found along the narrow coast between Seattle and Juneau, Alaska, as well as some other mid-latitude coastal areas of other continents. As many people from these places will stereotypically tell you, the oceanic climate is also known for its constant rain, occasional storms, and often overcast summer.
By definition, the oceanic climate dominating most of /wg/ will have an average temperature above freezing during its coldest month (although snowfall is still plausible, if uncommon), and below 22°C during its warmest month (occasional heat waves notwithstanding). With increased latitude and/or altitude, eastern and southern /wg/ might experience the subpolar variant of oceanic climate (Cfc), which means the average monthly temperature will be below 10°C for at least 9 months (although the mild winter is still applicable).

>Biome
By default, almost the entirety of /wg/ would be covered in temperate forests, with a mixture of broadleaf and coniferous trees. More specifically, lowland /wg/ will be primarily temperate rainforest due to the aforementioned ample rainfall further amplified by orographic lifting, where the undergrowth is dominated by moss, ferns, and creeping plants. The most well-known examples of temperate rainforests are located in coastal Cascadia, as well as the southern Appalachians.
While it depends heavily on the local ecosystem, a rule of thumb is that the colder the area is, the more conifers it will have compared to broadleafs. Eventually, though, even conifers will struggle when the temperature is too low for them. The line where conifers can no longer grow is called the tree line, and is dependent on both latitude and altitude. For /wg/, the tree line is probably around 3,000m in the north (likely above the highest point of /wg/), and around 1,000m in the south. Above this line, the landscape will be primarily grass, shrubs, moss, and lichen, a biome known as alpine meadows.

>Crops
Of course, the same factors that allow for forest growth also work for crops growth, which is why a significant part of maritime west coast Europe has long been deforested for farmland and grazing grounds. This is most prominent in Ireland and Iceland, where the native forest has been mostly destroyed until replanting efforts in modern times. A variety of crops can thrive here (especially with help of irrigation and fertiliser), including wheat, barley, oats, rye, potato, apples and pears, beet, and grapes.

>Geology
As noted by the geologic province rentry, /wg/ is primarily orogen outside its coast, although the cause of this orogeny is unknown. It *could* be a result of the South Neutral plate subducting the nijiKR plate (which has a tendency to form wider orogenic belts), or a remnant of older fold mountains from an unknown subduction event. In either case, the type of rock present in /wg/ will be igneous (cooling lava/magma) and metamorphic (rocks transformed by heat and pressure), but the specific type will depend on which kind of orogeny it is. In the former case, you will likely find more blueschist and eclogite; in the latter case, greenschist and hornfels. In either case, mineral resources in the mountains will likely be rich but not necessarily abundant, with iron likely being the most prominent metallic ore.
Coastal /wg/ will likely be sedimentary in nature - either as an uplifted continental shelf or weathered mountains. In either case, rocks like limestones, mudstones, clay, and gypsum should be common, although mineral resources will be limited to placer deposits (metal washed downstream by water - think panning for gold, but in ore deposit level over millions of years) and potentially ironsand.

You know how you said giant mushrooms had organs like lungs? Perhaps these tree-sized mushrooms can have lungs as well. Mushrooms storing air in their caps could explain why they are bouncy to hop on. And the mushrooms enjoy being bounced on because it helps them "breathe". Perhaps animals that live in fungi forest adapted to bounce on mushrooms for transport. Also the forest would not be 100% mushrooms. The forest would have trees, bushes, and grass mushrooms need to nourish themselves with.

Another day, another map
This time, Black Fleet assets.
Each Sashidatum is a region assigned to a single Admiral, with the exception of Sashidatum I, which is under Goddess Faithful control. These assignments are the most renowned within the Admiralty besides that of Fleet Admiral.
The Admiral assigned to a given Sashidatum does not have any governance powers, but he is responsible for the defense of this region of the island, and for managing military assets within it.
The Coastguard Districts are assigned to Municipalities. Each Municipality funds a number of vessels in the Naval Militia to patrol their district and ensure its safety, but those organizations also collaborate and work hand in hand with the Black Fleet assets assigned to their territory. The Districts are nominally assigned to the larger settlements, but all towns within the district participate in its protection.
The Shipbuilding Facilities specified here are all those that are the property of the Black Fleet, or owned by third parties with exclusive contracts with the Black Fleet.
The Major Naval Bases are the seven largest Black Fleet bases currently active. They house weapon storage and manufacturing facilities, large harbors, dry-docks able to accommodate the largest ships in the Black Fleet, training camps, and strategic command quarters.
The Naval Academies serve to train the officers and specialists of the Black Fleet. Each Naval Academy specializes in particular domains of art, science and engineering while providing a strong baseline education for the best and brightest of the Black Fleet.

>Climate
Like /risu/, the climate of /mep/ is divided between its east coast and west coast. In the east, a warm, wet tropical current brings ample rainfall to the land, although this is seasonal due to the doldrums shifting across the year. As a result, eastern /mep/ season is defined more by rainfall than by temperature change - the summer will see significant rainfall, while the winter is noticeably drier, although not to the point of being arid. This is known as a tropical savannah climate (Aw), although be noted that it does not necessarily imply a savannah biome. As latitude increases, while the total rainfall decreases alongside temperature, the difference between wet and dry seasons reduces as well, leading to the area bordering /risu/ to become subtropical (Cfa) instead. In the west, a cold, dry current results in the land receiving significantly less rainfall, leading to it having a semi-arid to arid climate (BWh~BSh), although it should be noted that the actual climate here should be fairly mild for an arid climate.

>Biome
Despite the climate classification, eastern /mep/ will likely be dominated by tropical forests. The majority of them will be seasonal in nature, meaning that many of the trees will shred their leaves during the dry season to reduce water loss, leading to a very observable seasonal change in the land, as well as a more developed understorey due to the forest floor being exposed to sunlight during the dry season. In the north, the more uniform rainfall pattern, combined with a lower temperature reducing water evaporation rate, results in the tropical forest becoming evergreen once more.

As one goes inland, the dry season will become increasingly influential, leading to a transition towards tropical dry forests. Eventually, the forests will become increasingly thin and patchy, with grassland and shrubs filling the space in between - this savannah biome will likely be dominant in central /mep/. On the western coast, rainfall becomes so uncommon that even grass and scrubs have difficulty thriving, resulting in exposed dry land commonly known as deserts. However, compared with major hot deserts like Sahara and the Australian Outback, the weather here is comparatively mild, and the coast might be shrouded in fog, where the water can be extracted and used by adaptive plants and enterprising humans alike.

>Crops
As one might expect, the agricultural heart of /mep/ will be on its east coast due to its heavy rainfall. Tropical crops like rice, maize, cassava, and sorghum are well-adapted to the environment - in fact, assuming a well-developed irrigation system, /mep/ can potentially see rice harvest up to 3 times per year. Other potentially useful crops adapted to eastern /mep/ include sugarcane, coffee beans, cocoa, banana, pineapple, citrus fruits, tobacco, coconut, bamboo, ramie, and ginger.
Farming in the west will be difficult due to the high level of water evaporation unless otherwise compensated artificially. In the savannah area, animal herding will be the dominant form of agriculture, although the cultivation of specific drought-tolerant plants like date palms may prove surprisingly profitable.

>>30082596 (Me)
Missed the dreaded geology part:
>Geology
Unlike the mostly sedimentary /risu/, the eastern half of /mep/ is located on a geologic shield, which is formed by ancient tectonic activities. This means the bedrock of that part of /mep/ is likely granite and diorite, extremely weather-resistant rocks that remain (relatively) exposed after everything else on top has been worn down, which also exposes the high-grade metamorphic rocks (like eclogite) formed by said tectonic activities. They would still be worn down into sediments and sedimentary rocks, but relatively speaking, it is easy to go through them and digs into the much harder bedrock. Another characteristic of geologic shields is the presence of greenstone belt, which can be fairly mineral-rich.

>>30082909
I think I did that back then, it just never got noted down due to the risuner's... focus. I would say it's fairly similar to /mep/ in terms of crops, though, although it might be hard for /risu/ to get 3 harvests/year even with a good irrigation system, and I personally have a bit of trouble imagining /risu/ having the kind of administrative system to coordinate/coerce risuners into building large-scale irrigation systems.
I know I'm biased as someone from /meat/, but it might unironically be a good idea for /risu/ to adapt /meat/'s agricultural system (excluding /meat/'s... preference, presumably) of maize, squash, and beans. It should be less labour-intensive while having a balanced enough diet to not worry about malnutrition even after /risu/ moves away from a nut-heavy diet.

>>30083135
>>30083197
Sure, I'll work on that after taking a bit of rest. Funnily enough, both lands are actually fairly similar in terms of climate (both are in subtropical monsoon climate), so rolling the climate, biome, and crops part of both into one might save me a bit of time. The geology is different, though, so I guess that part might take a bit of time. I really hope we can get an actual geology anon...

For /nenmen/ and /mans/,
>Climate
The two countries share a fairly similar climate. Both are located in the subtropical, Equator-ward region of a massive continent, resulting in their climate being heavily influenced by their respective monsoon system. As such, they are both considered in a subtropical monsoon climate (Cwa). This climate is defined by its hot summer, mild winter (snow will be *very* rare - think New Orleans, Shanghai, or Sydney), and sharp difference in wet and dry seasons. A slight lag between temperature and rainfall change leading to it seemingly having 2.5~3 seasons: a mild and dry winter, a (short) hot and dry "pre-monsoon summer", and a hot and wet monsoon season. India, a country with a similar monsoonal influence, defines its 4 seasons as winter, summer, monsoon, and post-monsoon, while its ancient calendar opted for a 6-season model.
Between the two countries, /mans/ will have a somewhat milder climate than /nenmen/ due to it being an island surrounded by water, which has a moderating effect on both temperature and precipitation. Here, winter rain will be less unusual, and some might even argue it has enough rain to put it in a humid subtropical climate (Cfa) instead.

>Biome
Due to the warm temperature and ample rainfall, both countries are likely covered in forests by default. The wet-and-dry season pattern means it will likely be a seasonal (sub)tropical forest - most trees will be deciduous broadleaf trees that shred their leaves during the dry season to reduce water loss, thus allowing the forest floor to develop relatively dense shrubs and grass. In some cases, local topography or human intervention might lead to thinning of the forest, rendering the biome into more of a mixed woodland and grassland biome.
It is also possible for the land to retain enough water through the dry season, which can result in two different biomes - the forest is moist (sorry) enough that it doesn't need to shred its leaves during the dry season, resulting in an evergreen (sub)tropical moist forest, or the land becomes too waterlogged to support tree growth, resulting in a wetland. Be noted that some trees can still grow in wetland, meaning that the two categories can overlap. Along the subtropical coast (northern coast of /mans/ being the main exception), coastal wetland might be home to mangrove trees, resulting in a blurred coastline of mangrove forest.

>Crops
The combination of a mild climate, sufficient sunlight and ample (if uneven) rainfall results in the lands being suitable for many kinds of crops. Rice remains the predominant food crop in this climate due to its high productivity, but other crops like wheat, maize, and potato can also be grown with relatively few issues. Other notable crops suitable for this climate include tea, sugarcane, cotton, soya beans, citrus, banana, pineapple, peaches, some types of grapes, and tobacco - basically, if it's grown in the southern USA and/or southern China, it can be grown in the two countries.
The main difficulties of agriculture in these two countries are:
>Water management
The uneven rainfall pattern, especially for /nenmen/, means there will be periodic flooding and drought. As such, a robust irrigation system will have to be developed so that excessive water during the monsoon season can be diverted and/or stored, and additional water during the dry season to be introduced.
>Soil management
Similar to many tropical and subtropical forests, the soil comprising the two countries tends to be acidic and poor in nutrients - heavy rainfall results in most of the nutrients in the soil being leached away. In the forests, nutrients are replenished by decaying organic matter accumulating on the surface. However, the same replenishment process does not occur or is heavily reduced in farmland, meaning that the land will quickly lose its fertility. IRL humans have developed several ways to mitigate the issue:
>Move to other parts of the forest: this includes slash-and-burn agriculture and its more sustainable cousin, slash-and-char agriculture. Most commonly seen among migratory people, this method boils down to waiting for the forest to heal itself. While the least technologically demanding, it is also arguably the slowest method, and its yield is very low.
>Fertilisation: nutrients and biomass (compost) are artificially introduced to the farmland from elsewhere. This is arguably the "default" method in this time period.
>Multiple cropping: this includes crop rotation, intercropping, and companion planting. Basically, specific plants are grown on the farmland. Many of these plants tend to require different nutrients and can replenish land fertility one way or another.
Be noted that these methods are not mutually exclusive - the "default" intensive agriculture model makes use of both fertilisation and crop rotation to increase yield.

Well, given Moriji's focus on chuubanitics, I was thinking that it might make sense that our top of the line armaments be chuubanite enhanced instead of using slightly anachronistic technology.
The way I see it, any of those implementations should have pros and cons that leave them around the same level as conventional weaponry, or circumstantial advantages that are offset by disadvantages the rest of the time.
First idea: a chuubanite percussion cap cannon. The percussion cap is made out of a quartz-cement composite. The quartz, with hardness 7 on Mohs' scale has a decent affinity with Mori-type chuubanite. It is infused with as much chuubanite as it will take and sent on ships. The percussion caps can probably be used to shoot a few times, and then their chuubanite is "spent" and the cap must be replaced.
There are pros in the reload speeds that can be achieved, and in the amount of metal needed by the cannon (since the cannonball is not pushed by compressed gas, but by essentially an extremely stiff spring, the cannon doesn't need to bear the large overpressures found in gunpowder-based weapons).
However, I would expect the power density of this firing method to be lower, limiting it to relatively smaller loads, or lower projectile velocities, as well as the percussion caps being much more expensive and difficult to manufacture than gunpowder.
But on the other hand, even if they're balanced wrt conventional weapons, I feel like people might just see "magic cannon" and dismiss the concept as a terrible idea.

As an example bioweapon:
>/mans/
Transported in waxed pottery containers or in cloth/linen, inhaled by victim and causes thrombosis and acute pain in joints and cartilage. Doesn't physically disable fighters but causes immense debilitating pain and is fatal if it reaches the brain, this would take a matter of 2 weeks without specialist anti-fungal treatment. Is infectious via the infected person's excrement, mucus, spit and coughing/sneezing.

>/meat/
Mold carried on food (bread, meat, vegetables) that causes an infection that causes necrosis of soft tissue particularly in the face. Collapses sinuses, destroys the palette of your mouth, spreads to the eyes and then the brain. Quite visible and noticeable once infected, death takes 3 weeks to a month and can be treated by removing affected flesh/skin but causes disfigurement and eventual death if left untreated. Spreads rapidly due to sporing from the infected flesh so particular caution needed when treating victims.

I had some similar ideas for a rifle/musket. It would use a chuubanite rod as the propellant, with each rod giving you like, 8 shots. The gun would save you time in reloading, allowing for a little bit faster firerate. That, and it would probably also be a bit more silent, cause less visual obstruction when firing, and it would work in wet environments since chuubanite reacts just as well wet or dry, unlike gunpowder.

The downsides would have been obviously expenses, but also the projectile having less velocity and thus the gun would have lower effective range, be slightly less accurate, and the projectile would have less chances of penetrating bodyarmor.

The weapon would have fit great against fighting masses of unarmored enemies in close quarters though, and that would have been what it was designed to do, quell local schizo rebellions in /infinity/.

I recommend you go for it, but detail it well and remind people of the downsides.

I've had an idea about something like this actually. Considering shells that contain the fungi would either 1. cause the fungi spores to die due to heat and impact or 2. cause the victim to die because they just got hit with a shell from a naval ship's gun I had a memory of something British gangsters in the 40's and 50's used to do.

They would take the projectiles out of shotgun shells and instead replace them with salt crystals, this was non-fatal but caused extreme pain to the victim. So if on your ships you had a swivel gun resembling a blunderbuss that has a cartridge containing spores (ones from a fungus with chitinous spore shells to protect them) that you would shoot at extremely close ranges, this would offset the benefits of a ship-based bioweapon by requiring you to be point-blank but would be worth doing against an inferior enemy as if the infection went unnoticed a large amount of people could become infected over the course of time.

>>30096512
Referencing the above info; putting fungus in bombs or shells is difficult due to these enzymes (particularly hallucinogenic or mind-altering ones) being fairly chemically vulnerable to temperature changes. But if you could encase them somehow in a material that is soluble in the body that would protect them (think mucus, salt or CIA heart attack gun where the nerve agent was covered in ice) you could likely achieve this type of effect. Just need some hand-waving.

You can refer to https://rentry.org/chuubanite for the mechanic's details. Basically, if an activator substance applies an impulse to chuubanite, the amplitude of the impulse is amplified as it travels through the rod, decaying the chuubanite inside of it. At the end, you have a rod where too much chuubanite has decayed for it to propel projectiles usefully.

https://rentry.org/chuubanite#linear-force

>When using activator substances, any object made of (or coated in) the activator substance will, when coming into contact with chuubanite, cause the chuubanite to amplify the force with which the activator substance struck the chuubanite. This force then travels through the chuubanite at the speed of sound, and is transmitted to any object in contact with the other end of the chuubanite. The magnitude of the amplification could either be constant for all chuubanite objects, or it could be dependent on the amount of distance the force travels through chuubanite, increasing by a factor of X for each unit of distance traveled.

Transfers and amplifies the impulse of a strike.

Now that the climate map has changed so has the possibilities for different resources. Fuck this kinda changes everything actually. Nobody expected risuners to be half forest desert. Gas with fungi is hard, spore clouds are easy if caused by hand-help weapons (throw a pot with a bunch of spores, they get inhaled etc.) Easy to give a few people a bunch of plant-pathogenic spores and agri areas have high nitrogen and carbon soil content so the fungi would go crazy, just sprinkle around a bit and cripple a food supply over a few months.

>>30097114
This is for /mans/, KAG and /meat/ as a disclaimer. VMS as an academic institution does not support bioweapons, the people making them for you would be individual mycologists with no morals who potentially want large amounts of money for research or are obsessed with dangerous fungi.

The implications of this are that if you use these weapons openly, and without discretion internal investigations will happen, the mycologist found and disavowed, and if he sets foot on soil where Syndeoneia has jurisdiction they will be captured and dealt with accordingly.

It's probably not your problem, but if the /mans/ government houses a disavowed VMS mycologist making bioweapons for them you can assume VMS packs up and leaves, sends religious fanatics to try and assassinate the mycologist or would deploy the same bioweapon in the area he is being held without discretion to attempt to kill him.

Probably not an isssue for you considering you're smart enough to figure out how to make the weapons yourself, but it would make your life easier to at least try to psyop the public into thinking the fungal infections plaguing your enemies are some sort of unrelated disease.

I'm not 100% on what the latest chuubanite consensus is beside on what comfyanon wrote in the document. Does chuubanite still leave the element/material it binded with when all of it's energy has been expended? That would change how the gun is actually the design quite a bit. But I guess pic rel is what you are thinking about, since irl percussion cap only activates the charge not.
The gun would suffer from quite a lot of issue from accuracy, stopping power and range. Depending on the exact composition of the cuubanite and activator the reaction could also be different. Some would perform like air rifles but worse in terms of ballistics because the projectile is only accelerated when the hammer strikes the chuubanite. But some could also produce almost just as much bang as normal firearms, but would still be subjected to the same issue, albeit less so, and with it having more power behind it, also producing some noticeable flash and heat from the violent reaction. I could see it as something used as an assassin's weapon, but due to how the propellant is it would still be inferior to air rifles, but the obvious advantage would be factors like the relative cost, maintenance and training, not it's power.

My current latest understanding is that chuubanite can let a certain amount of energy from the Heavenly Realm into Vitubia (allow a certain amount of magic quanta to create energy) and then it decays. So the chuubanite part of the weapon would need to be either re-infused with chuubanite, or replaced with a fresh chuubanite part.
The rest of your comments are valid engineering parameters of the device, and will help balance it so it's not a panacea.

also, because of how the propellent would only produce the energy needed to launch the projectile, you don't have to have good barrels and chambers, since it doesn't produce any pressure and heat(assuming your specific method of production doesn't), and that it would be detrimental to have a longer barrel, since depending on the windage of your barrel vis-a-vis your projectile, it would bounce around too much and lose too much of its momentum in its travel.

Whether the gun would be less effective than air rifles really depends on what the amplification factor is. IT could very well be high enough to make the gun a bit more effective than an air rifle, but obviously far mor expensive to use.

>>30098634
That was the idea. Youd have rods of chuubanite, each giving you about 8 shots or so. After that the rod is spent and you need to replace it with a new one.

Reportedly the air rifles had a lethal range of up to around 120 yards. But you would also have to consider that it only received the 'push" when the activator contacts with the chuubanite propellant block. So rather than a firearm, it's probably more like a pellet crossbow, but more powerful and with a big maybe, more accurate. I'm not a STEM person but having a rather short time of accleration would probably hamper it's accuracy and trajectory quite a bit. Pellet crossbows had a tension rope bringing it all the way toward the front. I don't have access to data regarding the air rifle's accuracy but I would assume it's not significantly worse than a contemporary musket. All in all because of how the gun would work, not how expensive it is, it would likely be less effective than an air rifle. But it would absolutely have an advantage in operation and training since the air rifle was considered an elite weapon, as it requires a lot of training to be used without a grunt breaking it in field conditions.

In a way that's fairly similar to semi-arid climate, with the main difference being that the Mediterranean climate has a wet winter while semi-arid has a dry winter. Semi-arid climate might actually be a better place when it comes to grapes, since introducing water to the plantation is easier (irrigation) than removing water from it (to reduce the risk of fungi infection). Both climate zones are considered Mediterranean in viticulture (then again, France and US can't agree on what count as maritime and what count as continental in some cases either).

ya, basically they want us to not attack a few areas in /morig/ while they work on installing something, but /morig/ will persecute us all the same so unless /inf/ compensates us somehow, the deal is that we have less raiding regions among the more valuable raiding targets and can't attack our biggest enemy in a few potentially strategically important regions. the alternative is to not make the deal and accept fighting /inf/ who defend /morig/ but that would be awkward even if we compensate each other for lives lost. idk what we would want or need to make a deal like that viable, and how long /inf/ will protect /morig/ is important knowledge that i don't recall ever hearing, but if you can figure out a good compromise, that would be good. again, nothing i said needs to be canon if i put you in a difficult position. please decide for yourself if it is worth following or not.

It is my way of organising ideas and plans in my head. Technical terms would make easier analogues. I have a habit of putting ideas on backburners and give them a slow burn cooking.
Also, about the WMD. Imagining it as aa cookie-cutter Cthulhu mythos monster is a no-go. Primarily, too obvious of a cliche. Secondarily, does not seem to fit /meat/. Sure we have horror chuubas but their attacks have mostly been 'psychological'. Mental ryona and ego-guro.
With Matiyotl having intense use of hallucinogenic weaponry; this could be our missing link. How do I put this into words...
Founder, you play HOI4 right? Plus you proposed a specific wing in our Ministry of Magic dedicated to the study of Schizos and weaponising them.

The mechanism would probably have to be a bit more complex than that. The thing with the chuubanite gun proposal is that chuubanite itself could only produce the energy when it contacts with something, and presumably it only does during that time. Though having a coating/core that touches the propellant might be able to do the trick, but that would be a lot more complicated and expensive to manufacture. While having shaped bullets would help soldiers load it might also present some problems when they are using the weapon under pressure, depending on your drills and methods of reloading.

Hmm... well, it's not actually too implausible to achieve, depending on how wide an area you want to have a Mediterranean climate - is it fine as long as Pavolia has it? Or would you want a significant part (or even the entirety) of /mep/ to have that?

Now, the most defining characteristic of a Mediterranean climate is its rainfall pattern, where the majority of its rainfall comes during the winter months, leaving the summer months dry - basically the sunny Californian summer weather that many seem to like. The temperature is actually fairly high - by definition, a Mediterranean climate requires the hottest month to exceed 22°C (and at least 4 months exceeding 10°C), while places like Athens, Rome, and Jerusalem usually have a temperature range between 10°C and 30°C.

For /mep/ as it stands, the northwestern coast is the closest it has to such a climate. Due to the relatively weak cold current causing the arid climates, its weather is milder than the more archetypical samples of this climate - you can make a compelling case for the temperature to stay around the hotter months of a Mediterranean climate across the year (Lima is a good example of how a city in a hot desert can have similarly mild weather). The main difference, then, would be a lack of winter months both in temperature and rainfall. Basically, living in northwestern /mep/ would be like living in a perpetual summer in the Mediterranean.

For the east, there is a more significant change in temperature across the year, although its coldest months would still be above 22°C. The bigger issue, though, is the wet season being *very* wet - tropical rainstorm probably is not what one would enjoy during the summer days. During the dry season, though, it would feel like a slightly colder Mediterranean summer, which might be what you are looking for.

Overall, fixing these issues with magic should not be too difficult, although if I may, I would like to suggest the idea of the Queen having a summer palace (or castle) and a winter palace - depending on the time of the year, she would live in the one that has the more comfortable weather. This is something that RL monarchs have done, and for pretty much the same reason, so I think it would be a nice detail that makes use of /mep/'s more complex climate distribution.
