Most of Hololive's profits don't even come from YT. The business model is to to build a brand name and have good brand recognition. The real money is in events, sponsorships, and collabs with big corps.

Why would he?
He has contracts with the streamers yes... but they dont have a fixed salary or anything and therefore he has no costs by letting them be around.
They only get money from their SC's and all investment Cover has to pump in them is pre debut ( design, casting and maybe streaming equipment ).
So why cut of streamers who bring in money ( even if they dont bring as much money as the big ones like, coco, rushia, kiara, gura, mori etc.)
Now that i mentioned it .... it is still a mystery to me how kiara and gura are amongst the top earners in hololive with kiara only getting ~5k viewers and gura disappearing every other week for 5+ days.
I guess kiara just got really loyal fans and gura is playing the " ohh hi am back " card every week

Even in 3dpd idol shit there are a lot of girls who struggle to stand out but they still make a living and get TV appearances. Comparatively even the worst holos have a much bigger pull and good income for their regions.
