The general rule of thumb is Twitch if your content is primarily based on livestreaming and YouTube if your content is primarily pre-recorded and edited.

>Do you think there's an audience for X, Y, Z content?
First, ask yourself if you would watch a streamer of your skill and experience. Second, do a check on social media and look to see if other streamers are already creating similar content. Don't limit yourself to vtubers, include traditional real life streamers to scope out a potential audience.

Alright, currently on a break from my big stream and lemme just say, if you wanna see content where I’m not nervous, my Yugioh content specifically is where I’m probably the least nervous-sounding and the most confident because I’m actually good at the game - it’s also the point I’m aiming for. I get a lot better in streams when I’ve hit my stride - though I suppose the whole ‘talking stiff’ thing is definitely a problem I have, which I will try to remedy. I do get nervous sometimes though; I’m also gonna start doing ASMR more too.

Step 1 is complete. I have a desk. Sure beats having all my shit on the floor. I already have a USB mic, infamous yeti I bought for cheap months ago. Last year, actually. Can sound good if you have proper mic technique and don't crank the gain up to 100% like a retard but that's a whole other topic. I test audio all the time, audio is my jam. See people talking into the wrong side of it all the time. Saw a professional guitarist do it too, spoke wrong into it. Goes to show that even specialists can fuck up even if they work in music. Wondering what Step 2 should be. Gonna stream like normal on my account for now before anything else, just to get used to it. Haven't streamed in months now, lack of desk was too much. Well, if it comes to it, I'll give all the necessary info.

Let's just get the debuffs out of the way first. Babi-sounding SEA-accent PNGTuber, barely have the budget for a PC that can handle streaming. But I'm ngmi if I just stop there because of all that, yeah? Gotta give it a good shot.

Decided to stream to share games I like that barely get streamed, and I have a personal requirement of at least one mech game a week. I try to be consistent with my stream time, usually start at either 7 or 9 am EDT.

I've noticed lately that I've been playing a bit too safe, holding back on my personality to make a "safe" image. That's probably my most important question, but I have a couple more that are related to "oops I drew too much inspiration from Japanese corpos."

So, the questions:
1. How much can you actually get away with personality-wise and still have an image decent enough for corpo applications? I'm thinking of being slightly more open about my "character designs that make me down bad" side.
2. Would emulators get me in trouble? Retro streaming of NES to SNES-era games is something I'd like to do, but as of late companies seem to be cracking down on things that should be considered abandonware.
3. Would name-dropping chuubas to gush about their good qualities be seen as clout-chasing? I see a lot of things happening out there, and I'd like to talk about them as a fan-turned-VTuber, but I'm worried about the potential backlash. I draw inspiration from Ironmouse and Ollie in particular on this point, though I'd like to emulate my original oshi Watame personality-wise.

There's more, but this is already mucho texto. I'll keep checking in, though.

Personality wise, I'm a bit excitable, play games like a kid plays with their toys, except I have a streak of mathing things out and explaining my actions. I also do a surprising amount of "well, here's reality" talk (trust me, it weirds me out), but I usually cap those out on a positive note because I love my viewers and want them to grow as I try to grow myself. I also asked the above questions because I do tend to be down bad towards certain girls' designs; I have a good idea of which designs get me going, but babi voice makes me reluctant to be more open on that.

I try not to mention viewers by name, but I do notice when people chat - and that's the only time I welcome them because, hey, don't force lurkers to un-lurk when they're not comfortable. I'm terrible at humor in general; that part I struggle with not just doing, but working on improving as well. Frankly I'd call myself boring compared to the tippy top, but I make a point to minimize dead air where I can, even if it's just silly noises. You're putting too much stock in what is posted here - there's a lot of shitposting, samefagging, etc, and you need a good sense to separate that from the sincere posts. But in general, don't try to pander to this place if you're trying to make it big. Take whatever lessons that work but don't be bound by it.

Honestly I'd just work on being an entertaining streamer and growing a fanbase before worrying about anything corpo-related. Make sure you can do the basics first, you can always rebrand down the line.

Surprisingly, I do stream on Twitch! I have YouTube for my VOD uploads and shorter videos, but streaming-wise I started on Twitch and now can't switch platforms without losing the ability to let my viewers use emotes. And yeah, I have enough consistent views to keep Affiliate, so that's nice.

Is it possible to get even a moderate following (30-100 viewers) if your model is a furry? Sure you could market yourself towards furries, but wouldn't that be a bit too niche? I have come to the realization that I'm afraid of streaming because I'm afraid I won't live up to the expectations of my viewers. I have had multiple people DM me telling me how happy my streams make them, and that really kept me going. Those people are my treasures, and truly the most important thing in my life.
But I feel like I'm letting them down. The more I don't stream, the more I let them down. And then when I do stream and everyone shows up, I feel this lingering sadness that I am all I have to offer them. I'm just not good enough for these amazing people and eventually they will all realize it and I'll be alone again. Maybe I should just quietly graduate and stop this cycle.

Well considering people BEG chuubas to be entertaining so their viewers like them for their content, it seems incredibly shallow for the viewer to pick out a chuuba simply where they stand on fake axes and spectrums.
